Can we now stop complaining about getting difficult brackets?

Man I don’t agree at all. Purdue is a huge matchup problem for UK in my mind. Painter vs. Cal doesn’t make me feel better. Revenge game against a UNC team who can beat anyone right now. Baylor is coming off of final fours and championships.

I just don’t think we got nearly as good of a draw as most. I would rather be Kansas 2 seed.
You gotta play someone along the way. Purdue can score but their defense is atrocious.

For the record, Kats has Purdue beating us. I think of people look at that game it’s a matchup issue in a lot of ways with how we play. Oscar has never gone up against a player with the size of their oaf. Not saying we don’t matchup in places but that’s only if Calipari lets them run and I don’t think he will. He’ll play into Purdue’s hands.

Purdue has to worry about Virginia Tech or Texas as well. No guarantees. Purdue doesn't scare me.

Nothing to complain about? Once again every analyst on television said our bracket was the toughest. I know we can't expect to get a Duke-eque cakewalk, but for goodness sake just put us one time somewhere besides the hardest bracket. I would have been fine with Auburn's spot.

Yep, they are 100th in KenPom. The 3rd worst among all major conference teams in the tournament.

But UK is prone to bad offense and droughts. The metrics don’t mean as much as people think because of all the variables not taken into account.

When looking at it I still see a matchup issue where we usually don’t have one. That’s why I don’t like it but we’ll see. And Painter is a hell of a floor coach. They will be prepping for us like mad. And Cal is going to tell ask the team which game they just downloaded on their Xbox an hour before the game. I’m being sarcastic but I think it’s a problem game. Hope I’m wrong.

Yea I’m not seeing why so many like the bracket. Auburns spot is the good one. Ours might be the hardest actually. Don’t get what everyone is seeing.

It's garbage that we possibly have to eliminate the only other Kentucky team to make it. They always do that. Guarantee that game will be tougher than you think if it happens.

We're a better team and should win, but I'm expecting it to be tough. 30-2 even against inferior competition is impressive.

Best we could have gotten.
I'd rather have Wisconsin as the 3 seed all day long. Purdue's D stinks, yes, but they are ranked #3 in offensive efficiency. Matchups are worse than what Wisconsin offers.

Overall, don't hate the draw, but if we were going to get a Big Ten 3 seed I would much rather have had Wisconsin. I've watched Purdue more than any team this season not named Kentucky.

The only other 3 seed we could have gotten was Wisconsin. Honestly, I don’t know enough about the 2 teams to know if one is preferred over the other.

I think Purdue is way to slow to beat us.

I have no complaints with this bracket worked out pretty nicely for Uk potentially.

But, we have been screwed as much or more than anyone in the past. Agreed tho time to move on that doesn’t matter now.

Oddly enough it feels like we sh*t the bed with good draws more than not. Whole bracket has fell apart for us several times and we've choked.

Several of the big runs where we have overachieved has been in tough brackets.

We won’t be in transition against Purdue in the ncaa tournament. Cal isn’t going to let them play fast I’m telling y’all. Oscar can’t get 20/20 against a 7’4 big. Hell he around 10 and 10 in that game. We will have to have Ty and Grady turn it on big to beat Purdue.

With the way Cal will play right into Painters hands this game is a matchup issue.

Exactly. Thought it the second I saw it.
Same. Look at this.

3 seeds:

Tennessee 7
Texas Tech 9
Purdue 14 (UK's region)
Wisconsin 34

4 seeds:

UCLA 8 (UK's region)
Providence 49
Arkansas 20
Illinois 17

*Notably, both Wisky and Providence are in the Midwest with Kansas.

If both teams get that far maybe we can mix it up and throw Oscar on their 4 man with Ware and Collins rotating on their big man. Don't really want Oscar getting cheap fouls trying to rebound against their center or getting blocked like he does against much bigger defenders. Cal likely won't tweak things just for that game though I would bet.

I'm concerned with Murray State first.

So because we get a decent one, that erases all the ****** ones? Not how history works.

Purdue bothers me. They have 7-6 guy and his backup is big and a good strong player. Painter is a good coach, kinda like Barnes. Good coaching and some good players, our guards will need to play great to overcome.

Oscar did pretty well against West. Ky's Sharp at 7'5" with 28 boards. I'm fine running with Purdue, Kentucky should be happy to have a game we can get up and down in, finally.

I think it's a good matchup for us, personally. Even better than Wisconsin because of the tempo factor. We will run with Purdue and they will run with us.

Let's go get it !

Have never noticed but do they normally put a lot of the same state teams in the same bracket like they do us? Murray does not have the inside power or size to beat us. We need Baylor and North Carolina eliminated before we get one of them. Getting by our third and fourth game would be tough.

I think it is a reasonable draw (but not especially a cakewalk) but I don't see it as anything resembling being some history book clearing kiss of staggering proportion even if do think it is an easy road.

The deck isn't stack against us this year but that doesn't retroactively mean there isn't a record of doing just so.
