Calipari has favored the "Circle" sets these last few seasons, which I HATE because it's basically just Tyler running off screens, and our other 4 players standing still. Then if Tyler doesn't have an open shot, he hits the post - but the defense is set so makes it tough to score - but if you have studs, which UK does, it can also be tough to stop.
Calipari had a lot of great success on the recruiting trail this year. I'm no expert, but I have to think that he recruited these kids with a pitch that did NOT include the "Circle" style offense. With the wings he brought in, Maxey to drive the ball, stretch 4s to shoot - I have to think we're going to see a more modern approach on the offensive end.
Also, don't think think that Hagans was a good PG for the Circle style of offense, so Cal might be helping Hagans out with a new approach as well.
