What these players better do is BEGIN to shut up and dribble because if we don’t get to winning soon and to our standard they might be sent packing too. Enough of the nonsense. Win ****ing basketball games or get out of Rupp’s seat. That’s where we are.
They gotta start winning I agree, and with his coaching style and the personnel we currently have im not overly confident

100% my feelings... I just don't understand the point of the video? I must say, I feel a little discouraged by it. We're all here to enjoy the ride, but we're all expecting to NOT have the usual early bumps in the road because of the pieces we do have. Hoping it's not injury concerns that drag out.

Yep...what concerns me is if he knows something he isn't saying publically. Is Oscar not going to be ready for game 1? Is Wheeler going to be out and extended period of time?

Time will tell....he could also be underselling intentionally to over deliver. Wouldn't be the worse tactic ever.

Yeah, thought about that as well... Underselling. Or in some weird way, trying to motivate his players? I don't know, just would have preferred him say nothing at all and let the play on the court speak for itself. If I'm a player on the team, how do I react to that?

Right. I would’ve rather him not say a thing about it

Right. I would’ve rather him not say a thing about it

But that’s the point. He said it because he’s going ahead with the typical “you can’t be mad at me I told you we were going to lose games”. And it will work on around 10-20% if the fanbase that wants an excuse to continue to support him even to the detriment of this program.

What I want more than anything is all of the people that encouraged money over education, dropouts over diplomas, those who pushed for years you don’t need upperclassman to win, those that have bastardized this university and this program, to leave with him if he doesn’t win. It’s obvious they care nothing about UK they care about backing this guy regardless.

Gonzo has already left because his philosophy has been exposed. The other 10-20% that helped that along need to follow his lead.

If we don’t win this year or next year it’s time to consider a buyout and move on.

wHo u gOnNa hIrE!!!!!! I lIvE iN 2014 aNd hAvEn’T wOkE uP tO 2022!!!!!!!!

When my choices are to have no shot at winning a title with Calipari, I’ll roll the dice with the percentages. A chance > no chance. And with Calipari it’s getting to the point where there’s no chance. If he doesn’t win a title by 2024 he not winning another. Move on.

I’m not interested in coddling a Jim Boeheim at the university of Kentucky.

We dont have anyone that can take someone off the dribble AND finish. The lack of creating good offense is what scares me and returning to the stagnant dribble the ball until 10 on shot clock before anyone moves.
it would not matter, ccc is always going to play that style
other teams sign these smaller jitterbug guards that can shoot, but not ccc, he signs the bigger ones with higher ratings that can't guard the jitterbugs

the team has no coaching

Yea I mean what does it matter if you have upperclassman if they’ve never been coached correctly. They guy is too carefree and is more concerned with everyone knowing hOw mUcH hE dOeSnT cArE than actually giving a damn.

Great coaches are serious, they take the program seriously, they don’t project “I don’t give a F” ever. His players take on this mindset and believe they’re in the 10th year of their NBA career playing for their 12th franchise.

You cannot win titles with 19 year olds doing that. And it’s why he’s had his *** handed to him and will continue to do so until he makes changes and cares.

When that guy made the comment “I’m going home to see my dogs”, he should have been shown the door.

This video is a joke. No reason to do it and someone/anyone who has his ear needs to tell him to quit doing this crap. This isn't coming off the success he had early in his tenure. Read a room a bit. This wasn't going to go over well nor should it.

He's got a team built to contend, make Final Four and have a shot at #9. There's nothing Kentucky lacks when looking across the sport. Maybe he needs to adapt to how the personnel is best suited to play if he's this concerned this early in the season. I know one thing that performance Sunday where he allowed a friend to come in and just goon a game up didn't excite anyone.

When you crap the bed in NCAA's off worst year in school history, you can't be afforded this type of nonsense. Lace them up and get after it. If you are concerned about playing rotation, play faster and press so more guys get to play. If you want to play solid 8, do it. But this isn't what anyone wants to hear, specifically this week when a lot of the UK fans are furious with FB program's performance against a rival and same rival who has been winning far too much against the basketball program as well.

People are excited for the season and don't want that lowered. Especially when you are trying to sell tickets and get Rupp filled again. Good lord the PR at this school is an abomination right now.

Coaches fight to get this job....and with it comes the expectations that aren't realistic but it's what comes with the brand. Embrace it!
you make valid points but you are forgetting.........UK is stuck with ccc
all he can do is make excuses, stomp his foot, holler & jerk guys out for missing a shot
he has no offense, especially against a zone
when Wheeler is playing it will be 4 on 5 as Wheeler will be unguarded
he has zero idea how to adapt to the team he recruited
a coach would play up tempo and pressure defense, but not this clown
all he can do is make excuses and put kids in the dog house
this year it will probably be Livingston & Collins that never play

….With all the veterans coming back and the frigging POY returning…there is absolutely *NO* reason for us to be shaky in the early part of the season. That’s ridiculous.

I disagree. Anytime you integrate several new (especially young) players into the rotation, no matter who returns, it takes time to get in sync.

No excuse not to make a very deep post reason run with this team, however. Not with this many talented athletes and shooters.

No, he’s saying Oscar is way behind because he hasn't been playing. He’s making up his own excuses for Cal. He’s Bassfan's little bro.
Oscar at 60 percent conditioning is still probably our best player maybe second, but cal has made more excuses recently than he has gotten results

Oscar is 40 years old entering his 2nd season in Cal’s special education offense. If being out for a little while makes that big of a difference, Oscar isn’t who we thought and we know that’s not true.

Calipari seems to simply be making excuses for other things he’s seeing. Like, I don’t know, the fact that when the inevitable happens and white bread goes down, we have NO ONE to shoot the basketball LOL!!!!!

Here are yet again with a bunch of long, athletic, spring boards with no basketball skills who can run but won’t be allowed to.

The weird thing is his players actually resemble him. Athletes not basketball players. He’s a salesman not a basketball coach.

God help us if we get two titles out of this guy we are so lucky it’s insanity.

Nothing wrong with the video in my opinion. I could easily see Reeves taking time to find his role, Livingston and Collins being busts of high ranked kids, Ware just not being good, etc. Not sympathetic to Cal though. This is the team he put together through recruiting, NIL(Oscar), and the transfer portal. No excuses to not be good and good early.

...at least for November and December. Pretty sobering assessment. Sounds like he knew people were jacked after the Bahamas and expecting more than this team could deliver -- at least early.

"We're not where we want to be right now...We could be a little shaky (in November and December.)"
And, "What we have to do to win at the highest level is going to take us some time..."
I think the last time he was this blunt was before the 2013 season.

Cal is nothing but a BS artist. If we are shaky it is on him.

You gotta love the Cal Cult. The guy has been getting his *** handed to him and making a fool of our basketball program and all a few of you can do is constantly go to his defense.

You damn right people are whining. And you damn Right it’s going to continue until he prioritizes this program and wins to the level expected of a Kentucky basketball coach. I don’t care how his sac tastes, I care how winning tastes. You should try it.

Be a UK fan for once, have some friggin pride in this program and stop making excuses for our downfall because Calipari’s cologne has suffocated your ability to think straight.

Damn losers.

The Calipari Life Cycle

Step 1: Enter season highly ranked with Final 4 and National Championship aspirations (YOU ARE HERE)
Step 2: Lose first highly ranked matchup of the season (Usually Duke, Michigan State, this season Gonzaga) and potentially get upset by a non-ranked team
Step 3: Continue to play lifeless basketball through November and early December
Step 4: Beat highly ranked opponent in December/January, team is starting to look decent
Step 5: Win some tough games against ranked SEC teams (rarely are the wins against Tennessee), lose some away SEC games to terrible teams, but overall team is looking decent to good for March
Step 6: Enter March Madness with legitimate Final 4 hopes
Step 7: Lose to a lower ranked seed in a game where the offense looks terrible
Step 8: Lose at least half the team to the NBA
Step 9: Repeat!

Everybody loves offense but this is a defensive team. That’s what will win for them.
Can they develop enough offense to win? I believe so.

I get where you're coming from but that's all we here is defense defense defense. I mean if you CAN just put the ball in the basket more than the other team at the end of the night that's another way to win a game. And I dont mean sound like a smart *** but damn I rather have some scorers and shooters who can scorch the damn nets and then hopefully get some stops when we need em and we've got The Machine on our side to pull the boards. Defense is important. Very important, but offense is too. You need a little bit of both to win games. It's like it's more of a focus on D around here and then hope to get lucky with enough baskets to pull it out at the end. ****.. he talking about scoring 80. I wish! I hope but I have my doubts. If D Is what gets it done though and pulls in W's I'm all for it.

We have enough quality shooters compared to most Cal teams. This isn’t the roster to be downplaying. We have the pieces, if someone isn’t performing and someone like Thiero sits the bench that’s when I see problems.
Yes exactly true and I already feel like that's what Cal is going to do is sit Thiero on the bench and make comments about how he's just behind etc..this video is very concerning wtf is going on? Anyone with eyes can see Thiero is a winning basketball player but because he wasn't as highly touted Cal is going to make it seem like he's not ready.
