This is simple- Cal isn't going anywhere this year- this is completely orchestrated by Cal and the team that works with Matt to get everyone back Loving Cal and hoping he stays... he isn't leaving on a losing Record..Period!

Lot's of work to do for next year but he isn't going to Texas or anywhere!
Why would it get anyone back to “ loving Cal” ?

I don't think Cal is leaving and don't want him to.

But, those that think it would be no big deal that UK fans ran off a HOF coach that accomplished all Cal has and we would just hire Brad Stevens or some other huge name are idiots. UK would be a laughing stock and, IMO, no legitimate, big name coach would touch the UK job. UK fans (at least those on message boards) have lost their freaking minds about Cal the past few months and it's baffling to me.

IU is nowhere near UK's level but is still IU basketball and they were told no by 10+ coaches and had to settle for a laughably terrible hire. They paid $10 million for a guy to go away and had unlimited money to throw at a big name coach and they all said "no thanks".

UK fans better be REAL careful what they wish for, it's not going to turn out well if Cal leaves now.
Don't you think there are other coaches out there looking in from the outside, saying to themselves: "Damn. Cal crapped the bed this year, and made how much? Sign me up for that gig!"

My point. Exactly. Cal doesn’t need UK. But UK needs Cal.

What do we need Calipari for? His best days are behind him. He is running antiquated an offense combined with an antiquated recruiting strategy which has culminated in this atrocious season. We have a repeat of last year, he will not have a choice.

I don't get how some of you guys wet your panties over losing a coach. I heard the same thing when Tubby left.

Kentucky's bigger than one man and there are multiple coaches out there who can drive this thing to the finish line.

A bunch of nonsense. Get real people. Sarkisian makes $5.2 mil a year there. You think they're gonna offer Cal $15 or 20 mil? You think their AD wants to answer questions why the boosters couldn't come up with the money to get Urban or someone in there, but will come up with Cal's buyout and the salary consideration it would take to sway him over the edge to leave to do a rebuild there this late in his career?

Reality is Cal is gonna be here a few more seasons and retire. This is what....season 12 or 13 for him? Just not even remotely concerned with this rumor.
Cal has no buyout for another school to pay.

Cal is allowing this to remain I the public eye to gauge the reaction from the fans and boosters. I know that there are a few big time boosters that are upset with Cal over the BLM video and the kneeling at UF.

i can’t see ANY WAY the Longhorn AD offer’s anything close to what UK has given Cal.

Captivating insight as always from Matt Jones! It could happen, probably not, but MAYBE!!

Exactly. Matty Bangs making things up and talking out of the side of his neck to get people listening. Slow time of the year I guess.

I looked it up, they went 24-10 and played in the NIT tournament after Cal left. Memphis had to vacate the 2007-2008 season but they didn’t lose any scholarships. Was put on 3 year probation as well.
Yes, and for an SAT test score by a player. A player they had cleared to play earlier in the year.

And there are also boosters that don’t care. You aren’t dropping any knowledge.

Bc it’s like when you’re in a relationship and you aren’t into the other person anymore....and then the other person leaves or stops showing interest unexpectedly and suddenly you want them again.

Human psychology is weird

That’s the crazy aspect of it. I wasn’t blaming Cal for that. I’d bet on it if he went to a school like Duke or UNC nothing would have happened.

OK

You can take it for what it’s worth. But for Cal to let this STAY in the public purview for this long tells me that their is pressure coming from somewhere to the point that he would even consider leaving a LIFETIME CONTRACT at the #1 job in his profession.

The fanbase alone would not lead to Cal’s fishing expedition.

Are we forgetting 2017? 2018? 2019? Cal too? I thought we were pretty successful there too.
Elite 8s is only a good year if its a coach these children want to replace Cal with. Last night they wanted Cronin. The participation trophy kids are mad they didn't get one this year.

We are rock bottom, or close to it at the very least. If he leaves, we most likely lose those that have announced they are coming back. He has UK bent over the barrel in and he knows it. He’s built nothing, there isn’t a program anymore. He’s put himself in a spot to be needed here whether he’s wanted or not.

His last 5 years have shown he’s not the guy he used to be. Effort and desire are one thing, results are another. Tubby’s last 5 and Cal’s last 5 are almost identical.
Man, you’re spending way to much time conversing with a urine rashed troll!

Probably one of Brad’s friends, if I were to guess!

Dude, no one is running Cal or any other person off for that matter! He would be leaving on his own doing, by his own results!

You act like the dude has Saban’s record and the fans are still pissed! Get a new schtick already! Everyone knows you’re the board contrarian.

Cal’s gimmick has been exposed, the system is broken, and it’s time to move on before its gets butt fugly!

As for no big name coach would want to coach at UK? $8- $10 million dollars per says hold my beer!

I wish you would go away forever from this site ( you and your 24 other accounts) and never return.

I look at it like it’s Texas vs UK. Nothing needs to be said. I mean at this point the man has turned down a job like ever off season how much more can he do.

Thank you sir. Now tell me how you did it.
Not sure what device you’re on or if you’re using the app. But on the mobile page, you find a gif you like, tap & hold, and select “copy.” Then on your post here tap the little square with what looks like 2 little mountains in it to insert a picture. Where it asks for a web address hit paste and then insert.

Cal wouldn’t leave a job like this to go to Texas. I’m hoping this season has given Cal his edge back. I want the old Cal back that wanted to kick everyone’s ***.
