I bet I could get him to go back and forth with me until this time tomorrow. I know I could. Just red eye posting back and forth.Bro, as someone who's went at it with Jeff for a year plus change, he just wants to win. Nothing more, nothing less.

The reason we have to ride it out, is UK would get hammered by the national media if UK up and fired him mid season. You just can't do that to a HOF coach.I would advocate for having him fired mid season (knowing fully well that’s not happening). Cal isn’t getting it done, not going to get it done, has made it painfully obvious he will not change to get it done. No reason to allow him to keep sinking the ship (except the damn buyout). I’m of the
Mindset, you cut bait as soon as you know it’s time. This season is still salvageable but not with cal walking the sidelines.
I would take that bet.I bet I could get him to go back and forth with me until this time tomorrow. I know I could. Just red eye posting back and forth.
Not trying to argue but how do you support losing?I will support him because he is the coach of uk
No one will forget the St Peter’s loss, but this team was pretty good last season. Kentucky was a popular pick to win it all when the tournament began.I mean if we are being honest here Cal had a good offense just as recently as last season.
It’s kind of been all downhill from there. No one will forget the St Peter’s loss, but this team was pretty good last season. Kentucky was a popular pick to win it all when the tournament began.
In my world I don’t care what the national media thinks. My retort is 4-13 isn’t remotely close to KY standards and the trend just didn’t start this year, we’ve been going in the wrong direction for a bit now. Not going to continue to roll with a coach (HOF be damned) who won’t even make a simple defensive adjustment during the course of a game. Uk didn’t wrong cal, cal wronged UK by putting NBA aspirations ahead of his purpose for being here.Thevreason we have to ride it out, is UK would get hammered by the national media if UK up and fired him mid season. Heck, we cought flack for the way Tubby left UK.
It needs to be a mutual parting, or at least something that doesn't look like UK wronged Cal.
It will be structured and presented that way but in reality i doubt it ends that way. The Rupp mandatory retirement at 70 because of school policy comes to mind. Rupp wanted to stay but the powers that be were ready for him to go ,so they used the mandatory age rule to make it as clean as possibleThevreason we have to ride it out, is UK would get hammered by the national media if UK up and fired him mid season. Preach! Where are they then?Well, it sounds like you and @Rockfly78 disagree with this thread, so why are you both commenting in it???
There are 2,000 other threads for you guys to visit if you don't like this one.
You Cal fans have been the ones creating a divide on a daily basis on here.
Cal is killing UK, the national media is now calling him out and you guys want to give me **** over a thread that actually has good discussion in it?
Where are you guys when Bass, KL and ED are running around here calling everyone out that doesn't suck Cal off? Why don't you guys say anything to them?
Here’s another scenario and where his logic takes him:Not trying to argue but how do you support losing?
I don’t think many would come to Cal’s defense. He has never been that popular with the media before his decline. Most have hated him a very long time. Even if they did go after UK, who cares. We are about winning not paying 9 million a year for charity work or draft night. He can’t beat a top 20 team as it is so I really don’t think it would affect the season that much.Thevreason we have to ride it out, is UK would get hammered by the national media if UK up and fired him mid season. You just can't do that to a HOF coach.

Oh, well I can't speak on that.I bet I could get him to go back and forth with me until this time tomorrow. I know I could. Just red eye posting back and forth.
I don't think the media would be the biggest problem. Firing a HOF coach in the middle of the season would make it that much harder to get the right coach. We already have the stigma of expecting to win every game by 20 points and go to the final four every year and our biggest stigma is we have unreal expectations and we'll run you outta town. Firing mid season would be like pouring gasoline on the fire.I don’t think many would come to Cal’s defense. He has never been that popular with the media before his decline. I’m not saying do it, but if he was fired I don’t think you’d see much of a drop off. He isnt really developing anyone at this point anyways and can’t figure out an obvious starting lineup that even a 5th grader would see as an obvious choice. Most coaches don’t need a tweak mid season to turn it around, they just coach from the beginning of the season.
Some people are just addicted to the snake oil.
Here’s another scenario and where his logic takes him:
His daughter is dating a guy named Chad. He is kind to Chad, because his daughter loves Chad.
Chad proceeds to abuse his daughter, but his daughter wants to stay with Chad. She believes Chad can and will change.
Does he continue to be kind to Chad, because his daughter still loves Chad?
Apparently yes. Yes he does. Why? Because Chad, regardless of what Chad is doing to his daughter, is still her boyfriend.

I can’t take people like this seriously anymore. If you are not part of the solution, but just a hayseed from Hazard County, then you’re a complainer.
A man should never complain or criticize.
You do not live in Ky.This is college basketball.
People can blast all they want but it's not that serious.
I mean people can have their opinions of the guy but to compare it to an abusive relationship might just be a bit overboard.

Again I know that’s not happening but it would not bother me in the least if it did. I stated in another thread the other day I’d love to see him have to step away from the team ala coach K in the 90’s with his back issue. This team with any sensible coaching would be vastly better.
Oh yeah, if Barnhart fired Cal tomorrow, I wouldn't hate it. But he better have a plan in place before he does that.It will be structured and presented that way but in reality i doubt it ends that way. The Rupp mandatory retirement at 70 because of school policy comes to mind. I they fired Cal 5 minutes before tip-off on Wednesday night I would be all for it.
KL, Bass and Ed? They have made cameo appearances, but they haven't stayed long.Preach! Where are they then?
I think a lot of people in the national media would make a lot of noise, especially guys like Vitale, who loves to get loud and call people out, and Seth Greenberg, who is a Cal defender.I don’t think many would come to Cal’s defense. He has never been that popular with the media before his decline. Most have hated him a very long time. Even if they did go after UK, who cares. It was a hypothetical scenario. We all inow Barney is too much of a candy *** and we know the buyout is too large.See I don't even think it has to do with the timing of where we are at in the end. There's quite a number of media people questioning Cal's coaching and have been for years so I'm not entirely sure there would be a whole lot of backlash.
The reason it's not happening is because 1) contract and 2) I don't believe the man responsible for hiring him and firing him is at that point yet. A portion of the fanbase might be. But contrary to what some might feel on here, we don't make those decisions.

Not comparing it to that, just revealing what his logic looks like in another scenario. This is college basketball.

Double Digit Cal has already burned Camelot now he is hoping to making it just a memory.CCC isn’t going to leave quietly and will burn Camelot setting small fires all over the program. Wait till he stops getting Top Classes. It’s going to get UGLY unfortunately.
Why do you assume after next year Cal would resign or be fired, or tap out in any form? That’s just speculation because of his buyout dropping some.I don't think the media would be the biggest problem. Firing a HOF coach in the middle of the season would make it that much harder to get the right coach. We already have the stigma of expecting to win every game by 20 points and go to the final four every year and our biggest stigma is we have unreal expectations and we'll run you outta town. Firing mid season would be like pouring gasoline on the fire.
And it's absolutely crucial we get the right coach. We need to have that lined up or our struggles now will be way worse if we mess that up. Cal is here till after next season and will resign, retire whatever. If we miraculously make a final four run then I'll get back on the ship, if only temporarily. I'm holding onto the tiniest bit of hope because most of the time we peak in February then go ice cold from 3. So maybe we'll find our shots in March. I know that's delusional but it is what it is.
Not comparing it to that, just revealing what his logic looks like in another scenario.
As long as Cal’s the coach, Cal is his man, regardless of Cal’s performance.
You can't even spell your stupid insult correctly.I see waddle Jeffie is baiting. Again.
What an idiotic statement.Yes no coach would want to come here and make millions.Well let me ask. With this idiotic fan base, what coach do you think would be willing to come down here and deal with this bullsh*t day in and day out. I'm telling you. When Cal leaves, we take a major step back. And yes, even further than we are now. A new coach is not the solution.

I didn’t? I looked again. It’s spelled exactly as intended. It may have been a bit sophisticated for the PlayStation .You can't even spell your stupid insult correctly.
Nobody is baiting anything. It’s a simple question that I would literally ask anybody if we were sitting around bullshitting.
If you can’t have a legit conversation like an adult, sign off, everyone is tired of your old man schtick.
You make yourself look worse with every post. Keep posting troll, show us more of your brilliance.I didn’t? I looked again. It’s spelled exactly as intended. It may have been a bit sophisticated for the PlayStation .
Yes you were baiting with the thread Jeffie Poo. You got called on it and you are throwing your very predictable temper tantrum. Proceed with your kicking and screeching. Did you do that when the ref made bad calls in church league?
There are no Cal supporters. That is a term you and the other KY haters coined to insult anyone that supports KY basketball.
Did throwing tantrums like this work with mommy? It’s kinda your signature response. Inquiring minds….You make yourself look worse with every post. Keep posting troll, show us more of your brilliance.
Come on, you can do better than that boy. You're the king of the trolls, hit me with the good stuff, don't save it for Morg, I want the good stuff.Did throwing tantrums like this work with mommy? It’s kinda your signature response. Inquiring minds….
