For sure - Any idiot can beat #2 on the road with 2 of your best 4 players injured and a 3/1 free throw disparity even though we are driving.
That’s a lazy argument. Wheeler played most of the meaningful minutes. And you watched the game. They could have won. Cal just didn’t adjust. He never does.

If he's as good as advertised and can help us win then you absolutely ****ing do.

If he's not as good as advertised and ca t help us win then shut the **** up about how it helps us recruit

Get rhe **** out of here with that horseshit Calipari.
No really, how do you feel about Sharpe playing?

Fair enough. Do you think Sharpe plays this year? If not, do you believe he’ll be back next year?
No idea and no idea but the truth is no UK fan knows **** about the inner workings. With that in mind hand wringing about the unknown is useless. With that in mind UK is 15-4 and lost on the home court of arguably what most to believe the best team in the country without TyTy by 5 basically minus the desperation free throws. My entire point, get a grip put it in perspective, we’re pretty damn good. If healthy in March I like our odds regardless of Sharpe. Don’t be mad at Cal for following through to an agreed upon plan. Our fans sometimes need to relax…. Me included. I love to win

They were getting in shape which is fine when you have 2+ months. To suggest you’re going to take 2 months to get in shape at this point is just stupid. In shape for what? The season will be over in two months.
We all know what for.

Its all about the draft with Cal.
It’s always been about the draft with him. Why you guys think all of a sudden he’s gonna change his philosophy is just a waste of your time. The sooner folks come to this realization, the better their dog will be. I’d imagine most dogs of Kentucky fans take a beating during basketball season. Is he right to think this way? At least he’s consistent.

Here is where this all boils down to.

1. This year's team is pretty damn good. But we have only beaten 1 good team in Tennessee...may be Texas AM will turn out good. And knowing Cal we'll sit TyTy for at least a week maybe more...if that happens we rack up 1-2 more losses w/o TyTy....we're cruising for a 5 seed-ish seed and can you make a run from there...we'll see.

2. Sharpe...we'll see how much of person of his word he's about. But knowing howh UK rolls...he ain't coming back for next year and I don't see anything that tells me he's going to play this year....even if he does we'll be thru teh meat of the SEC and rack up losses.

3. Next year....again, I dont see Sharpe back and now next year will have moments but not dominate team from what you can see. (Skyy Clarke isn't that great, no # SF in Sharpe and a big fat hole at Center).

So if we go this year and next without a major title contender/run....this is the Cal problem. He's never building a dominate team again....so is his methodology of roster management really working out?

When this philosophy equates to winning college basketball games, reaching Final 4's and having a shot at a national championship EVERY year, the $10 million/year is worth it. When it becomes a REST STOP for kids to park for a year(or shorter with Sharpe) then UK fans aren't getting what our RABID support has helped pay for.

However, because our AD gave Cal a FREAKIN lifetime contract, he can do WHATEVER he pleases and our fans either have to live with it OR stop caring and supporting Cal's program. The complaining MAY get to the point where Cal either starts winning BIG AGAIN, alters his approach or gets tired of all of the complaining.

Until that point, he has Carte Blanche to do it ENTIRELY HIS way. But that won't stop fans from questioning him when HE FAILS to succeed.

It wasn't a rhetorical question when I asked what Cal gets from allowing a player to sit on Kentucky's bench for a couple of months before he goes to the NBA.

I honestly don't understand how either Cal or Kentucky basketball benefits from doing that.

Anyone know?

I don't know.

I mean yeah without Tyty we probably don't stand much a chance @KU and @Alabama but the home games are winnable games IMO even without him. I don't think it's that dire as a 5 seed. I think we could still be looking at a 3 seed with this team. And while that makes the road a little bit harder, this team at full strength going forward can beat anyone on a neutral court IMO. We've made runs to the final four with a 4 seed and even an 8 seed. It makes it tougher no doubt but still possible. The main thing is keeping everyone healthy.

As far as Sharpe goes. Likely we don't see him play. But before flipping out over it I'll wait and see how this all plays out. Sharpe and his camp have been pretty consistent from day 1 about his plans.

As far as next year goes if Sharpe doesn't come back, I assume Cal will find players available through the transfer portal. Cal has proven to be a good recruit and he's done well with the transfers as well. I'm not going to worry about next year's team until next year. He'll put together a pretty good team IMO when it's all said and done regardless of whether or not that includes Sharpe.

Doubt if it's a championship caliber team next season without Sharpe. You don't find that kind of player in the portal and Cal missed on his big men targets.

How many of you took the time to actually watch the post game press conference?

At 10:30, Calipari says:

“It just wouldn’t be fair to the kid. I just wish we had a bunch of practice times where I had two weeks with him where I could run three or four things and have him defensively play because he’s a terrific player.”

Now in the midst of the sunshine sucking ***** fest taking place here, you all are missing a key piece of information... and that is between the lines Sharpe will likely play this season and likely in another week or two.

See for yourself

I can't believe that everyone seems to have missed THE reason Cal gave for not playing SS.

"I have told his parents I WILL NOT put him in the position to hurt himself.........I'm not"

Cal's not going to risk his position in the draft......PERIOD

You probably don't find one player like Sharpe but maybe you can a couple that combined can be effective.

I think we have a title contending team this season and I don't really think we have one superstar player on this team. I think if Sharpe played he would be the most talented player on the team. But we have a lot of very good players.

Hopefully some stay next season and combine that with the incoming class and transfers we might be able to put together something good.

Either way I think I'm just going to enjoy this team now and worry about next year's team next year lol

Such nonsense. Cal breaking some alleged agreement will have zero effect on recruiting
You kind sir are 💯 wrong. If you do not believe word travels with elite kids, families and circles you are an idiot. You are free to believe what you will.

What was "the agreed upon plan?"

That Sharpe can hang out on the bench until he goes to the NBA?

What is Cal's motivation for getting into a deal like that?
You don’t know, I don’t know but it’s obviously a little more long term and complex than those wanting him playing immediately are good with. Those folks need to relax and let it play out .

If I was the kid, I wouldn't come back. If Duke does
Why in the hell don’t you do one of two things, go cheer for any other team in this country, or shut the hell up with all this dumb *** stuff .

Tennessee the only ranked team we’ve beaten this year and last year. if i’m reading jon scott’s stat sheet correctly uk is 15W-19L vs ranked teams going back to the start of 2017, including yesterday’s game.

His first appearance needs to be in the last 5-6 minutes of a blowout. Get him out there in a no pressure situation to get the feel of things and where he can make mistakes without worrying.

Calipari has got to be the worlds greatest salesman.

Get this: he has convinced a large minority of KENTUCKY BASKETBALL FANS that there are more important things than winning.

We’ve even got fans that followed his “what if it was your son” line 😂

You just can’t make this sht up.

Calipari knew the second Sharpe accepted UK’s offer he was never playing a second at UK. Now maybe that changes this year because the heat will mount, but he’s a liar and this proves it.

How do I know? Well for starters I’m not stupid, second the plan was for him to play next season not this one. Now Cal says he wishes he had time to get Sharpe ready for THIS season. Wait coach? THIS season isn’t the plan, right?

Some of you are being played as absolute fools. Get over the Cal crush and come back to being a UK fan.

Nothing wrong with that statement. If he is not ready it could hurt his confidence for future games. One game does not a season make.
I kind of agree. I think if he went in and found out that there’s an athletic difference between a college jr and a HS senior it might demoralize him. I want to win as bad as anyone, but if his being held out might lose us the battle but win the war then I’m for it.
