If you had to change the lineup because it wasn't working, then you weren't right.
Your actual original Benny lineup hasn't even played more than 5 minutes together all season, which included Livingston at the 4. So you were never actually right about it. And the benny lineup has had about 10 variations at this point just depending on who wad playing well. Your's even included a Collins variant.
You keep living with your faux validation since that's what you seek. I'll just let the reality speak for itself.
Your words:
"He came to a fork in the road at the pg position and kind of made the right decision (he’s been going back to Wheeler more lately). He convinced Wheeler he was injured and the guys went out and beat Tennessee.
Now he's at another crossroads, only this time, it's at the 5 spot. Thing is, it's been a problem all year long, but he hasn't fixed it. Oscar, as much as none of us wants to admit it, is not defending the paint and our 4 spot isn’t helping much either. We have no rim protection and Oscar is not taking away ball penetration.
Now, Cal has options. Onyenso and Collins are good rim protectors, but does Cal have the balls to play Oscar less?
Is Cal going to just stay with Oscar and burn the season, or is he going to make a change?
Thing is, Oscar is getting swallowed up when we have the ball. He might do well against UGA on Saturday, but that's not saying much. Tuesday night put a big florescent hilghighter on our problems in the paint.
Now, Cal could show Oscar what he's doing wrong and tell him to stop worrying about picking up fouls, but it’s February, they've been working on that all year.
I really believe Oscar is playing matador type defense to prevent foul trouble, but that's not going to work.
If I'm Cal, I go with this lineup and I focus on spreading the court.
Wallace
CJ
Reeves
Livingston or Toppin
Collins
Reeves should be playing more and I also think Adou should be getting some time at the 3.
Sub Oscar in and see how it goes. If he is performing, leave him in there until he gets swallowed up again, or gives up easy baskets, but Collins has showed enough at this point, he should get that spot if Oscar can't fix his issues."
