You really believe a random “source” in UK Athletics a)knows about this, b) told another random person (despite it probably being a fireable offense) c)the story is broken on a message board and d) no media is aware of this?

You really believe all of that?
I believe someone told him this that he trusts. I’m not saying it’s true. But I think he believes it to be true. If you look back thru his posting history, he has never started outlandish posts. He could come out looking foolish. I’m not saying anyone else should believe him . I’m certainly not going to go around telling people that I’ve heard Cal was leaving because of this . I’ll just wait and see .

Agreed. I mean it in the way in which he will be perceived and talked about. I know he doesn’t care about UK
The old Cal would. The man now, not so much.

Cal has been getting HAMMERED by NBA scouts for the last 6 years and he KNOWS it, yet he REFUSES to change.

The HUGE lifetime contract has made him SOFT. He is getting ABUSED by the national basketball media AND opposing coaches now and he comes out BEGGING UK fans to stick with the team. When he came here 12 years ago, Cal would have REMEMBERED EVERY one of those coaches AND media people that questioned him so he could stick it in their EYES when he came ROARING back!!

That coach is GONE and it's both SAD and PITIFUL.

Directly from a member of UK’s basketball program. On the court.
Thanks for the information...or hope. Either way is fine. I think it comes to pass regardless of if this is true (or comes to fruition) or not. Cal's ego can't be unbruised given the beating he/UK/his rep is taking. His ego is bigger than the money (which is just a representation of his ego).

No. I don’t care about getting credit for anything. I like this site and would never post this if I thought what little reputation I have here would be torn to shreds. There isn’t a benefit to posting this for me. I just wanted the folks here that are praying Cal leaves to know it’s happening. That’s all.
I hope this works out for you. I had a pretty good friend that was a manager on Pitinos staff who gave me some “inside” info . I posted it on the old catspause board and it never happened. I felt so stupid.

Who the hell are you? We know ortho. Maybe you should shut up.
We? Who do you presume to speak for? There are few things more tiresome on a fan site than someone posing as gatekeeper because they've been posting a long time.

BTW-I remember who you are now. You're the clown who replied to me in another thread you've been calling for Cal's dismissal since 2013 so I should dummy up. Which is really dumb as Cal and the team won the title the year prior.

Cal will be returning next year unless he decides he won’t. Any ******** threads started like this just makes the fan base look foolish. The ridiculousness that the rest of the country views us is confirmed by posts like this. It’s getting out of hand now. Fine, blast away.

AMEN!! AMEN!! & AMEN!!

My brother was one of the connected boosters at UK. Friends with Leonard Hamilton and Joe Dean back in the day. He was convinced we were getting Ralph Sampson, said Ralph had committed several times.

Some things just don’t work out.

And THAT would have changed college basketball history! I SAW Randall Jackson’s UK jersey! He was transferring from Fla. State . Never happened.

Not buying that it would known by someone now, even if they are part of the program.

Again, they may be. But not in the open.
This is why I think leaks will start coming out soon.
Did your source say Calipari has informed his staff/players/admin that’s he’s leaving? Or is it more along the lines of your source is close to Cal and has a strong suspicion that he will leave?
Source is close to Cal and he told this person. I also believe he told several others. I am pretty sure Mitch knows.

I have no idea who the OP is nor will I call him out and abuse him for posting something that might be happening.
But why would someone with the team, OP said his source was 'on the court" so it is either a coach, manager, ball boy, etc tell this and agree to let the OP post this knowing it will get back to UK higher ups.
If this is all true and UK finds out, if Barnhart does not relieve Coach Cal of his duties, then he has no balls.
The team then must know and these kids will tell their parents, who will tell others, and so on.

If we hear nothing in the next 48 hours, then this is fantasy. The internet is what has changed everything, Nothing is a secret anymore. No way if this is true it does not make news fast.
Give it 48 hours and we will see.

If it is true, then let him leave. Lets finish the season with a UK man leading us and not someone waiting to lose the last game.
As they say, 'don't let the door hit you in the ***".
