I understand. If I named this person- and most on this forum know him- there could be problems for him. I can’t do that. Just thought I would share this info. May never get any more relevant info in the future- but Cal is leaving.
If that is the case, tell that poster to look at the thread and add some relevant info.

If this is true I'll always miss his smooth delivery in the Paul Miller commercials. So long, Coach.
If what you’ll miss about the coach is a car salesman commercial it’s not hard to see why fans wouldn’t be that upset

Highly highly doubt this is true. There is only one job open right now and they are ranked number 10 in the country. They may just name the interim the head man. No way not buying this.

Yes. True. I just think he rides until he gets to next years class. I’m good with that. A known is always a fair bet over an unknown.
That’s what I’ve thought. He has one more super class coming in. Make or break. Can he still do it with those types? If he can’t everyone will know it’s time . Don’t always agree with the last statement though.

From non anonymous sources.
Just go ahead and tell everyone that your source is actually ELLEN!!!!

She's sick and tired of taking the garbage out, making these unappreciative players brownies and Cal staying gone from their dogs way too long!!!

Sorry, I couldn't resist!!

I’m a very cynical person. But for some reason, I believe you have been told this . Your source could be mistaken or things could change but I don’t believe you just made this up and posted it. And yes , I did review your posting history. Hope someone else isn’t posting under your account.
You really believe a random “source” in UK Athletics a)knows about this, b) told another random person (despite it probably being a fireable offense) c)the story is broken on a message board and d) no media is aware of this?

You really believe all of that?

I don’t know this- but I didn’t ask either. Just heard it’s a fresh start and Cal is looking forward to a new opportunity.
So you were told Cal was leaving and just said cool? You didn’t ask any other details, where he is going, who is replacing him, how they are going to keep it a secret for three months?

Yeah, I TOTALLY believe you.

End of the season.
This is why I’m skeptical. Cal has such an ego. Will he really want to get talked about how the last 3 years were so bad and he left the program in such terrible shape? Or would he rather bring that class in, have a legit chance at a title, then leave it then and be praised?

If UK Athletics knew today he is gone he would be gone today. OP is hoping he guesses correctly so he can come back here and say I told you so. When he’s wrong it will be, “he was leaving but something changed.”
No. I don’t care about getting credit for anything. I like this site and would never post this if I thought what little reputation I have here would be torn to shreds. There isn’t a benefit to posting this for me. I just wanted the folks here that are praying Cal leaves to know it’s happening. That’s all.

Yeah, it’s hard to believe. If UK athletics or even people associated with them, know about this, there would already be a coaching search in progress. And the agents of coaches contacted would leak it if for no other reason, to get their client a hefty raise.

Know you can’t make your source but are they with UK or “around” UK?

It is hilarious that you think Cal gives a crap about leaving "the program in such terrible shape".

Cal ONLY cares about Cal when it comes to UK Basketball.

Unless an agreement has already been reached with a coach.
