I am. Lived in Shepherdsville, off of Highway 44, down past Bullit Lick Middle, left on Pitts Point Road, all the way down to the trailer park. Lived in the back of that ghetto *** trailer park right on the lake from 3rd grade to end of junior year in high school. Then moved to Hillview in Bullitt Co, lived on Summers Drive. Graduated from Bullitt Central in 1993. Left to UK in 1993, never went back.

I am, lived off of Zoneton Rd & Cedar Creek Rd. Loved it out there, quiet but close enough to stores and restaurants. Plan on moving back soon hopefully. Miss it out there. Kentucky girl, what part are you from?

Not from there but have spent a lot of years in Mount "Warsh"ington! It's a nice town to live in and raise a family. Good schools and close enough to Louisville for entertainment and restaurants.

Lived in Shepherdsville for four years or so and went to Brooks elementary school.

I also attended Brooks Elementary in 1977. First organized basketball team I ever played on. Lost 12-2 in a game and I was the two points. First baskett I ever scored. Lived off of Hebron Lane.

Also have friends up there who were in a pretty big Christian rock band in the 80's and 90's (Bride).

Brooks Hill would be a tough one to climb back up! I was getting off 65 at the Brooks exit the day the tornado came over the top of Brooks Hill. Saw it on the hill and flew home told my mom to get in the basement. Completely missed us. Had a bunch of friends who had major damage. That was a crazy day!

Anyone survive the big twister there?
I did. It literally chased us into the basement. I watched it pick up the house off the foundation for about 10 seconds and slam it back down. Cracked the foundation in 3 places, we found our bass boat nearly 2 miles away wrapped around a tree. The top of our neighbors RV got sheered off at the headrest level front to back and was literally in a huge tree. The coast guard came out, used a crane to get it down.... once on the ground my neighbor put the key in, started it up and drove it down the street. I have it on VHS somewhere, damndest thing I've ever seen. We had mail that ended up in shelby county. Glasses on the dinner table that got switched around from their original spot without spilling a drop.......yet 15ft away the east wall of the house got completely blown out.

There's a ton of other crazy **** that happened during that tornado, that's not half of the things I witnessed. It's a miracle that nobody was killed. The base @ Zoneton road was a half mile wide, measured at an EF5 and had 6 verified funnels at that location. The pressure in your ears and the deafening sound inside a tornado is pure hell that you don't want to experience

Summers Drive in Hillview. Back of the neighborhood where Overdale Elementary is (I believe that’s the name of it?). Back there by 65 entrance/exit. You can see Brooks exit from their back porch when the trees are dead (well, there gone now; tornado took most, construction and building too the rest. It’s so different now.

It’s right there next to the other elementary school, I think it’s called Maryville Elem. pioneer village police station is in the front of the neighborhood, and a storage place. Off of Preston highway in the front.

I grew up in Mt. Washington in the 50's and 60's and moved away when I got married. I moved my family back to Pioneer Village and both my kids went to Brooks Elementary and North Bullitt in the 80's and 90's.
I lived on Acacia Ave. during the 1996 tornado. It was so powerful it pulled the asphalt off the street. Its really hard to believe no one died. I lived there 13 years and loved it. I served on the city council for 2 terms also.

My parents house was demolished. This is the one back in like 96 or something.

How about the big train derailment? Anyone remember that? I’m shepherdsville.

I've lived in Hillview the past 14 years. I remember the stupid derailment. Thankfully I wasn't close enough to have any bad effects of it getting to my house. A guy I work with lived in the house right next to where it happened. It was a major problem for weeks and screwed up his house because of the chemicals burning for so long. He basically lived in one of the houses in the picture below behind that smoke.

I lived off of Mt Washington road about a couple miles from where the tornado hit. Didn't know how bad it was until a few days later when I went down that way and you could see where I believe it tore through the trees on one side of Preston Hwy and then hit the houses across the street on the other side. I was down in the basement just watching TV and saw the warnings come on the TV and didn't think much of it. That is at least twice that a tornado missed me by a few miles. Here's a clip I found about it. At 8:35 it looks like Little Flock Baptist Church to get an idea of where this took place.

I live in Lebanon Junction now. My property joins the back side of the Boy Scout camp. No neighbors in sight. Close enough to Shepherdsville for groceries and far enough to not be bothered. Anybody go to Little Ricks for cheap beer and good food? How about the hole in the wall Daddios pizza?

I’m actually taking about the derailment In the early 90’s in Shepherdsville. It was huge disaster. Rail cars hanging off of the bridge over Salt River. I believe there were cars with checmicals that were highly explosive next to cars that were burning. The entire city of Shepherdsville was evacuated for a couple of days, the institutes a curfew and the national guard wouldn’t let anyone in the city at all.

Nah..twisters are more exciting

My parents had mail found in Oldham County. Tore the house completely apart. They huddled in the bathroom (house was a split level, so the bathroom was partially underground, not completely basement). They found their boat 3 streets over like it was moved intentionally, no damage at all.

Lived in Autumn Glen subdivision in Mt. Washington from 2011-2016. I loved it. Loved our little movie theater. Had breakfast many times at Arby's. Several restaurants came and went in that time as apparently its hard to find good help in that town. I worked at just about every one of those factories in Shepherdsville, including Amazon like four times. They all went through people like butter. Had a job in Shep where this guy rolled barrels down a long truck and it was on you to catch it, search for little tiny cracks and pick it up in like 10 seconds. Worst job I've ever had.

Have lived in Florida since. I miss Kentucky this time of year. From December to February, though, the weather here more than makes up for it.
