I wouldn't be looking for any help from St. John's at this point. I think they've completely packed it in for the year.

Appreciate the heads up on the bubble watch.

NU best path to the NCAA tournament seems to be to win out in the regular season, and be 23-8 heading into the B1G tournament. They may still need to make the semifinals.

Nebraska women are kind of in the same boat. Record right now is 16-6, 7-2 in conference play. 4 of the last 7 regular season games are at home. Besides playing Maryland twice, the other five games are against lower tiered conference teams. Thursday night they play Illinois who has lost 10 games in a row & sit in last place in the league. Then, on Sunday Maryland comes to Lincoln. I can see the women finishing 5-2, but would love to see them knock off Maryland on Sunday. The RPI rank is 47 & that's also the SOS ranking. In my opinion, probably have to win a couple of games in the Big 10 tournament to make the dance.

If they are 23-8 going into the big tourny....NU gets a double bye which means 1 win and your in the semis

Said it in another thread. Have to stay the # 4 seed, so Michigan stays at 5 (just don't see Purdue, OSU, and/or Sparty dropping to #4). Make Michigan play the day before, then then, absolutely have to beat them in the quarters. They have a better schedule/resume than Nebraska, but if Nebraska is 2-0 against them, it'd be hard to leave Nebraska out. If Michigan beats Nebraska in the quarters, I'll be very nervous until Selection Sunday. I could still see Michigan still getting a 5th conference bid, but Nebraska??? Well, we're Nebraska.

23-8 guarantees NU the #4 seed and a double-bye in the B1G tournament. It won’t guarantee NU an NCAA bid. They’d have a good shot at it, for sure. But NU will be light on quality wins, and that could hurt them.

Also, if they draw the #5 seed in the quarterfinals, that’s no gimmee. So often you see the lower seeded team that played the day before pull off the win because they are game/tourney tested. It’s the 3rd day in a row that they have trouble. For the same reason, the winner on day 1 has a legit shot against the higher seed on day 2.

Lol, it's still unreal to me that Texas A&M is is an 11 seed per Lunardi. They are 13-8 (2-6 SEC), 0-4 vs. RPI Top 25. Yeah, they have a tough schedule, but why should that matter if they still can't win?

I could see Nebraska getting one of those 11 seed play in berths in Dayton on a Tuesday where you are in the tournament but not really unless you win

If NU is at 23-8 going in to the B1G tourney we are in no matter what happens at MSG.
Creighton's AD Rasmussen is the chairman of the selection committee...What does that mean for NU? No matter what people think, the chairman does have ways to influence selections.

And he's quite aware of Nebraska's success and talent.

IMO - it only hurts Creighton if Nebraska is a perennial NCAA tourney team. Creighton would prefer Nebraska be relegated to the NIT

Yes, Nebraska is going to keep moving up the outside of the bubble, bouncing onto the bubble, and then firmly being in the tourney.

Decent night with LSU, Houston, Providence, Cuse, Maryland, S Carolina, Texas, Marquette losing. Would have been real nice had BC won in OT. Mizzou also helps their cause with a big win on the road. I was torn on Maryland. Might be nice if they rack up a few wins and then we beat them at home.

Huskers continue to put DUBS on the board so might as well keep this going....

Solid night, Huskers with a road win, I'm conflicted on the Mich loss, Boise St losing would have been a cherry on top. Choke job by New Mexico

If Northwestern can string a few more together, that win could end up being another "quad 2" win. That would be nice.

With the win being on the road, they are actually a Quad 2 win right now. They are only seven spots out of it being a Quad 1 win. Definitely need to root for them to rack up some wins.

They just said on 1620 Nebraska is in 6 of 120 'bracketologists' brackets tourney fields. So again, hope for very few Cinderellas in conference tournaments.

Win the last 4 home games, and even a loss at Illinois, Nebraska keeps the 4 seed in the conference tourney even if Michigan wins out. Will likely face Michigan in the quarters, and IMHO, absolutely have to win it.

Think Michigan losses a game or two.

Last 3 games are Home against Ohio St or @ Penn St or @ Maryland.

I don't entirely disagree about the scenario. Likely a win in the B1G quarterfinals is necessary to get in, and frankly, I just think Nebraska is the superior team over Michigan anyway.

But that said, I think if Nebraska keeps cruising along, they'll keep getting attention from national commentators, which never hurts. Already had a shout out from Scott Van Pelt recently. More to take notice soon.
