He should reach out to Sallis. Like now. A fellow 5 star recruiting him to his home state school could help.

Agreed, that has to change the landscape just a little for Sallis, in the end I’m sure it won’t be enough to tip the scales, but hopefully it will give him something more to think about... I’ve said it before Sallis can still come here and work with Bryce and still be the hometown hero that turned turned the program around...

Could be a game changer, seems like in basketball even more than football talent follows talent. Awesome pickup.

yeah, I just looked up his profile. SG. Hunter is a PG. would be one hell of a back court for a year or 2.

The McGowens have a cousin (someone can probably help with the name) who is a highly ranked PG and a HS junior. He has expressed interest in playing with Bryce so we may be looking to make him our PG of the future.

Edit: The cousin's name is Chase Clemmons. Has offers from a bunch of schools, although no elite schools.

So, could end up being like the Cotton family tree was in football?

(Being facetious. Just having some fun.)

that would be nice too, but I think you prioritize Sallis at this point since he is home grown, and that’s assuming he came back and said he wanted in, which I don’t really see happening... So if this cousin of the McGowens wants to come here and play with Bryce, then let’s pick him up... I honestly never thought I’d see the day where the Huskers would get a 5* in basketball.... now the greedy part of me wants Sallis to form the killer one two punch

IMO, we already have a better shooter than Sallis signed up. But a one-two-three punch would be even more killer.

McGowens just makes it look easy with his frame. Very smooth player. Feeling good about this class.

I agree. Didn't mean they had no more interest in Sallis, although my post sounded that way. If Sallis changed his mind NU would find a place for him. I just meant that if Sallis is truly off the board for NU, they do have another, very solid possibility.

Loved his interview posted by Washut. "Humble over Hype." Got a feeling he's going to kill it, and how awesome to be able to play with your brother. Almost brings a tear to my eye.

With COVID and lack of pro potential we could have a bunch of football guys wanting to be here 6 years. With this guy we will probably need to worry that he will be one and done.

But but but but you can't recruit elite athletes to Lincoln, Nebraska. Somebody tell the volleyball and basketball teams you can't do this, it's not possible.

Exciting stuff from Hoiberg, would be fun to see elite basketball at NU.

You mean those season tickets I purchased starting in 1985 are finally going to pay off?
I told my Uncle @ my dad's funeral in June, whatever you do don't give up our familys bball tickets things are about to get real. After growing up in Lincoln and watching Nebrasketball for over 50 yrs IMO this is the best day ever for our program! Go Big Fred and Matty too! I am one happy guy today and I know Rambo is too as several others on here are as well!
