Damn I’ll have to read it just to see who the third coach was. I figured he couldn’t stand Calhoun. He was always a douche to Cal when Cal was at UMass. Wouldn’t schedule him and was always belittling Cal. **** Calhoun. Bag.
Looks like I forgot the easy one!

If the Wildcats' spring ends early, there will be matchups Calipari won't watch. There are rivals he can't abide, and vice versa; even without being asked he gives you a list: Pitino, Pearl, Connecticut's Jim Calhoun. "Are there times that there's envy and jealousy in our profession—and in me? Yes," Calipari says, "but I don't want to feel that way, which is why I don't watch a lot of games."

Really good piece. All UK fans should read it, and all Calipari haters should be made to read it.

I actually do like the guy. He has been nothing but complimentary of UK while coaching UT and UA. People just love to hate our rivals and I get that I guess but the dude is a good coach.

what’s he ever won to qualify as a “good coach?”

Well for starters he has a .669 winning percentage over his career. Coach Cal's is .781 for perspective. He took a UW Milwaukee team to the sweet 16. He still holds the Horizon league's record for the highest winning percentage. You don't take a crap team from the horizon league to the sweet 16 without being a good coach. Take off your blue blinders and give the guy his due. Everywhere he has been he's been successful. Put the guy at a blue blood and he will win at even higher level. Some guys just don't get that opportunity.

LoL Final four just last year got him a banner. Put the shovel down bud. Nobody is saying he's a world beater, Just that he's a good coach. If you can't admit that then its clear you are just biased. Have a good day kid.

Lol Joker. I think he sucks as a coach and a person. He underperformed at Tennessee, caught lightning in a bottle with a veteran Auburn team (after his show cause year off) and has done VERY little to prove himself as a good coach, KID.

Just shows your lack of basketball knowledge. I'd be embarrassed to continue to post here and show that off. Learn the game little kid.

I won't stoop to your level about me being a "little kid" (you wouldn't say it if we were toe to toe) but let me assure your dumbass that I have learned and forgotten more about the game than you EVER will and I STILL don't think Pearl is a "good coach." That's MY opinion and you aren't changing it. Won a weak *** Horizon league? Please. One Final Four and with all of the talent he had all of those years at UT? Had to go to Auburn with a senior-laden team to get to a Final Four? Why hasn't the NBA come calling if he's such a great coach? Surely the Brooklyn Nets could use his coaching skills. The Pacers? Shut up. He's a caricature of what a coach SHOULD be. He's a cheater, a snitch, and a weak coach. Post your BS all you want but you won't change my mind. "Kid," ha.

I'm in the minority, but I actually like the guy. Like has been said here, he's been complimentary of Kentucky and the BBN fans. Not only in the off season, but when we have beat his team in the past. He's never whined like Crean or Pitino.

He truly seems to love the game of basketball and his teams are generally exciting to watch due to style of play, even though they aren't normally filled with superstars.

Sorry I got your panties in a wad this morning by pointing out your clear lack of knowledge of the game of basketball. You make it so easy LOL Hope you have a great Thursday.

As Charismatic as he may seem on tv- in person, he is a very unlikable guy.
From strictly a basketball perspective, he is a good coach and has done some pretty intricate things within his flex offense. He is also a fantastic motivator and is outstanding at recruiting the right personnel for how he wants to play the game. All that said, I wouldn’t want him associated with any program I followed.
