Kobi Simmons will get drafted and some NBA team will give him a multi-year contract to develop him. Briscoe will be in Istanbul this time next year. Try harder.
LOL Kobi simmons might , might be a last 3-4 picks. But there are literally tons of guys like him and Briscoe that do this ever year. People just like to ***** and act like only at UK. It gets very old.

People say this, but they dismiss that it's the reason Cal gets so many good players to begin with. Freshman come in, they want PT, they want to have a shot to make a name for themselves. The problem, as a fan, is not every team gels and comes together quickly enough to win games.
I know and I agree. I just wish there was some happy medium where the guys that were ready like Fox and Monk could go but the guys that we all know won't get drafted would stay in school.

If you think the NBA views Kobi Simmons and Briscoe in anywhere near the same light you're clueless. Simmons will get drafted on "potential" and will have ample opportunity to be a contributing NBA player someday. Briscoe is nowhere near that.

Not what I said . I said Simmons , like Briscoe , like many on that list are entering the draft when they might not get drafted and they should come back . It happens everywhere. To act like it is just UK is just being a complete moron. Didn't say Simmons wasn't a better prospect then Briscoe as he is . Marginally better but better for sure. But really if you get picked 3 to last like the mocks have him if that really much better then being undrafted and getting to pick what team you try out for .

Robert Williams, a sure-fire top 10, possibly top 5 pick, comes back to A&M.

Isaiah Briscoe hires an agent.

Yep, there are a ton of examples of this. Good or bad it's what Cal/UK have become.

Briscoe is going to add to Cal's lengthy list of guys leaving early who go undrafted.

Out of all the people who went pro. This one shocks me the most basketball wise. Like why lol? I just don't get it. Go play in Europe after you get your degree. Hope he proves me wrong though.

i agree briscoe has little to no NBA future, so there is no point in playing in college any more. go overseas as soon as possible and make as much money as possible.

Wow! It has to be very difficult as a coach to deal with this type of delusion and impatience. He's not a first round pick and probably not even a second.

Why are you leaving in a loaded draft when you're not even close to even being projected as a first round pick. How does UNC get Justin Jackson to stay three years yet Briscoe leaves us after two years?

This is a joke.

If Kobi Simmons were at Kentucky and he were leaving I would say "Not the greatest decision but I understand it" since he will get drafted and some team will give him a contract to develop him. Briscoe is nowhere near the NBA prospect of Simmons. I'm not sure why that's difficult to comprehend.

There is an argument to be made that since he has very little shot at the NBA, that he should go ahead and start his pro career ASAP, even if that's in Turkey or Greece. Still making good cash and not playing for free at Kentucky.

I've been hard on Isiah as I'm an old school hoops that thinks guards should almost always be able to shoot or you dont play , but thats pretty closed minded for sure , but you dont have to have the right roster IF you want to play a guard that cant shoot , and this year for the most part Fox struggled with the J ( until late in the season) leaving us with 2 guards on the floor that couldnt extend the D any at all , it made it tougher on everyone as D's sagged , and sagged and sagged some more . But Zay played his heart out and seemed ike he loved it here . I'll miss his toughness as their wasnt anything soft about him at all, wish him the best even though I think he would have benefitted from 1 more here .

I am not betting against Briscoe. I think he will make a better pro (No matter where) than he was a college player. His heart wasn't fully invested in the college aspect but he is dang good. If he does get a chance in the D league I bet he makes it. I hope he does...jmuo

This is a joke.

UNCheat and Duke until recently fomented a culture that basically guilt-tripped players into staying. The whole "we don't do that here" line.

play in europe now...get the degree later. its the better choice of the two.

I know people make good money in Europe but I have also heard people hate it. Briscoe can't get through college, how is he going to like another language all the time. Like I said I hope he makes the NBA because he is a competitor but damn it's going to be tough.

Hate to see him leave, but at least we won't have to watch players getting yanked for mistakes while Briscoe seemed immune to it anymore. He was basically Coach Cal's pet project in doing whatever it took to try and get him to the pros. You can't have the #1 pg in the 2015 class stay more than 2 years or it might be used against us with Cal's recruiting philosophy. It doesn't matter if Briscoe has a game built for college and not the NBA. It sure would be nice to have a marginal NBA type player actually want to stick around for four years instead of going to the NBDL or some foreign country.

His heart wasn't fully invested in Kentucky? If that is true, I'm glad he is gone.

Anybody who thinks Briscoe is going to get a big contract in Europe is kidding themselves. Lots of guys in Europe with better skills than Briscoe are playing for peanuts in Countries we have never heard off. Of all the Cal recruits that have left for the pros Briscoe is probably the biggest head scratcher.

briscoe was a better rebounder, defender, and finisher at the rim than either twin

the twins played with one of the deepest, biggest frontcourts in college basketball

briscoe played with skal and willis

This shouldn't be surprising to people anymore. It seems like every year we have a guy who leaves when he shouldn't or isn't ready. Note that some of these guys still got drafted in the first but it was apparent to most that another year would have helped them. And a couple of guys on this list have still overcome the odds and landed a spot in the big show (Goodwin, Andrew Harrison, and there's time for Skal and Ulis).

17: Briscoe
16: You could make an argument for both Skal and Ulis. Skal obviously wasn't ready for the pros but he got a first round draft. Ulis probably wasn't going to get any better at college but when you get drafted in the second round it's nothing special. But what would have happened if Booker wasn't his best friend?
15: Harrison Twins and Dakari.
14: An argument could be made for Young but that's only based on what he's done after he hit the pros.
13: Goodwin. Got a first round draft spot in a really weak draft and has had trouble getting it going at the pro level.
12: Lamb and Teague.
11: Everybody who left that year made sense.
10: Orton. Currently playing in China.

Some of these guys were really late first rounders, and I guess it's never a bad call if you're in the first round to go.

They are 6'5" he is 6'3" maybe? Thats a HUGE difference in the eyes of the NBA scouts. Similar athletically. Height wins every time.
