Bolden's Mom?

Just watched the stream. His mom looked genuinely surprised by the decision. She freaked out when he said Duke. Do you think she knew? Did he change his mind? It was just a really weird reaction from her.

She looked extremely happy before he announced. I kinda assumed it was Duke by the big smiles.

She was beaming ear to ear before he said anything, but not that necessarily means anything. Best of luck to Bolden, down with Duke though... [pfftt]

He has the talent to be one and done but he won't be playing behind the bigs Duke has. Really a poor decision if you take everything basketball related into this one.

If you ever hear Duke and the recruits mom in the same sentence than you know what's next.
I'm just curious why he waited this long? Seems like it was Duke for a long time but who knows.

I guess his mom liked what Splinter had to offer, Kentucky is loaded and ready to roll, maybe competition scared him away. I didn't see the picture until after he signed but like someone said, he has a Duke haircut.

Dad must realize there is about .00001% chance his son will be on the court when games matter (Giles, Tatum, Allen, Jackson, Kennard or Jefferson or even Jeter will be on floor)--but it was a coup for Capel who pounded negative stuff in Mom's head.

I'll say this--please tell the misinformed morons on Twitter who PRETEND to know about UK recruiting and then when it's time for kid to comment-they disappear...to quit pretending to be informed. It's embarrassing and sets up fans for disappointment. There is one individual who loves to speak in "mystery" all the time and leaves himself as all knowing no matter how the decision goes--but this guy is a complete tool. He has no info--if you back search his stuff he often hypes a guy that UK has eliminated (this particular guy was all in on Kobi Simmons this time a year ago and talking him up--and then pretended he told everyone he knew it would be Fox).

Sometimes you just don't know. I asked my industry friend several times and he said quit bothering to try and figure this one out--it's back and forth and nobody has concrete info. He is of opinion the kid should've chose UK due to fact he'd play a larger part this year but he is also of the opinion Duke winning this battle might have just delivered Mohammed Bamba to UK--because Wendell Carter is Duke bound, and Bolden at Duke is highly unlikely to be 1 and done. That is what they sold him on and his mother wanted--educational long term career. So Bolden/Jeter/Carter---leaves Bamba on the wing? Villanova will be involved as well for Bamba but UK may have gotten a leg up on '17 with this decision.

I really wanted him but the silver lining could be if he did pick UK, she may have become a pain in the butt for Cal. How she thinks he should be played. Things like that

I mean she was screaming and jumping up and down. I would have thought that would have already happened...just weird.

She was paid well to act surprised. The paperwork was handed to the kid to sign before he opened his mouth. He was right there signing while she looked on.

They all knew he was going to Puke. UK was trolled by this guy. Probably K told them to hold off, but the Mama couldn't resist the UK/NBA comments to Cal...IMHO Cal knew then, which is why his big speech. I wonder if they had the courtesy to tell Cal before this announcement.

Good Luck to the kid - shame the momma wants the attention... FAKE "I didn't know..." and if I say it ten times that means it's true! She was auditioning for "The real moms of Duke Basketball" or something... fake.

I don't see that roster playing well together. They always tense up when mentioning fellow recruits.

Guarantee Dukes idea is to slow Bolden down and hold him there as long as possible while Cal pushes his guys to succeed. Hope it all works out for Bolden in the end. I thought with the success that AD and KAT have had that it would have pushed Bolden to us but stranger things have happened.

I guess sometimes when a parent has to have their pick of school for the kid, it's good the kid decides to go to that parent's pick of school. Imagine the parent allowing her son to go to a different school than she liked and everytime that kid didn't put up 20/10 on the basketball court she starts thinking and whispering in the kid's ear something is wrong with the coaching staff. Bolden is a good talent and i'm sure he will do well at Duke, but for my interest, i couldn't care less about Bolden nor Duke. Both are dead to me as of now.

You're insane. She did not look surprised. First, she was smiling from ear to ear the entire time before he announced anything, because she knew and was holding in how thrilled she was. Second, of course she was excited and went crazy. She knew where he was going, but just hearing it finalized made her flip out. She got what she wanted and was excited when it was confirmed.

He will not play there next year. I cannot get how he doesn't understand that. Maybe he is afraid of the big time, and wants to ease into it..

Momma wanted her son at Duke. There are lots of perks that come with being a Dukie mom. Ask the Wolfpack regulars. So be it. Personally, I'm fine if that's where he and his parents wanted him to be. Their right as a family to make a decision like this together. I wanted him at UK but its not the end of the world that we didn't get him. We have plenty of talent and who knows how he will be in college? He's no AD or KAT for sure...

I'm not so sure that Hump or the Lumberjack might not surprise us this year. All we need is a good rebounder and a defensive presence in the paint. We will score easily IMO.

Some will say, "I wish him the best," but I don't. The best means he wins it all as a freshman, at Kentucky's expense. So no, I wish him the worst. Call me classless and I'll call you naïve.
I sure don't wish him best, just another damn dukie punk that has had no upbringing.

Hey if he wants to be a 2-4 year player and take the risk of not being a real nba prospect, good riddance. If you did dukes dirty work waiting so we didn't get other recruits. I hope we destroy you in the ncaa

I'll bet she ends up with a cushy 6 figure job, new car, and plenty of jewelry. All of that is swell because the NCAA will allow Duke and UNC*** to operate under their own rules.
