So,everyone likes the way his game is developing now that he's healthy and getting more playing time,we're all talking about how good he'll be next year, looks to me like there's a good chance he may declare for the draft if his play continues to improve,we may not see him next year at all, hope i'm wrong but he may feel the time is right for him to declare.

Even if Bolden declares, I don't see how he is a first round pick, he still isn't on any draft boards. For context, Grayson and Trevon are projected in the 20-30 range, Gary falls anywhere from 15-30.

Bolden comes back next year, is an ACC All-American, starts on the best team in the country, and is a top 20 pick.

Also..the fact that the NBA is going smaller and smaller each year, meaning they have an abundance of bigs like Bolden sitting on the bench should help Duke too.

I think one of the things pertaining to Bolden hat has been ignored from the start is how much he really likes being on the team and how invested he is in working hard to improve. I think many assumed he was always and forever one and done or bust. Not saying he isnt to whatever degree, but everything that I have seen written about him that was attributed to him had him talking about working harder than everybody else to be as good as he could be and that he was very invested in being at Duke and loves it.

We need him next year

I agree and I think he'll be back.

There has been a lot said during Bolden's two years about body language and enthusiasm while he's on the bench but I've never put a lot of stock. Spending the better part of two years injured can do a lot to an athlete's outward appearance, especially when they're sitting on the bench watching other people get their minutes.

I do, however, put stock in the amount of effort Bolden puts forth when he's on the floor. Bolden appears to be enjoying his time at Duke when he's 100 percent and out on the floor.

I think Bolden is now just playing confortable and confident. He has had some injuries that set him back as well as prob a tad of not mentally mature enough to hard the adversities and demands of being a good college player as compared to a highly rated HS players.

If Bolden really wants the NBA he can get there. This year he is showing what and who he can be as a player. If Duke does well and makes a run and Bolden continues to show, he make at least go through the combines to get a feel of his status; then make a final decision.

If he wants to have a fun season of the man in the middle and potentially have his value grow in his draft position, then coming back is obvious. But with risk... He is very injury prone.

I'm excited for Bolden.

He should comeback for a few reasons:

1.) This draft has a plethora of big men 6’ 10 and over so he isn’t a first round pick this year or even close to the first round. Maybe late second to undrafted

2.) He will most likely start next year and get at least twenty plus minutes a game. Javin isn’t as talented as Bolden. Zion is a wing combo forward not a forward that going to play center at 6’6. EJ Montgomery is no where near the talent that Carter Jr or Bagely were coming into Duke.

3.) The 2019 Freshment class has only one real big man Bol Bol that is guaranteed a lottery pick coming into college.

If Bolden goes pro, he will most likely be playing in the G league all next year. If he sticks around another year at Duke, he will most likely be taken late first round in 2019 if he furthers his development.

If he transfers, he costs himself a year of development.

@jwill133 said it best. Look at the current status of the league for bigs. If you can’t hit threes or aren’t a dynamite rebounder/shot blocker, there’s really no place for you. Marques is really about 8-9 years too late for how he currently plays. Adding some dimensions in the pick and roll and showing that at Duke for at least a year as THE guy down low would really do wonders for him. If Jah is barely hanging on, Marques would be in trouble too. Give him a year or two as the guy and I bet he becomes a pretty good NBA caliber center. For now, I’m just glad he wants to be a Blue Devil.

good report hokie, cant see him not coming back if he knows where he stands as far as his future lies,2 more good years at Duke should enhance his draft prospects

To me, if I were him, I would live in the gym between this year and next. Conditioning, weight room and all work in the paint. If he was able to just improve in those areas he would be stellar for Duke.

The improvement in Marques is clear as day. I think he comes back next season as the undisputed starting center and continues to make his mark here.

He'll be back next year and average 12-10 and 2 blocks in about 28 minutes. Mark my word. He will be on the all conference team THEN he will leave. He will be a better Udoka (dude at Kansas). I wonder if we play zone next year. I think we will be a better man to man defensive team next year actually. Bolden is great at hedging on those picks

Really glad to see him talking in the video. I always thought Duke Blue planet gave the players a chance to have fun.

Amile and Cook used to do some of the funniest commentating.

Bolden will never average 10 rebounds per game.

He’s really playing well. Clearly he ‘should’ come back next season but we’ll never know for certain what he’s being told. I like the comparison timo made above to Mason. Run your own race.

Extremely happy to see Bolden finally developing his game! He’s slowly becoming the player we all thought he would be, coming in last year! Proud of him! Keep it up Marques!

He is finally getting healthy. That has been a major part of his problems last year and part of this year. If this is the real Marques, our chances at #6 are looking better!

I'm so proud of how Marques has turned it around, and hope he stays another year (or 2) at Duke. That said, I thought he and/or his family considered him a 1 and done last year? If that thought process is still in their minds, and if Bolden continues to play well, then I wouldn't be surprised to see him test the waters...and declare if the numbers come up right for him.

You’ll see. He’ll average either 9 or 10. WATCH! He’ll be in better shape next year too

I think ej Montgomery commits to duke unfortunately thats bad news for vrankovic.
But bolden will declare for the nba draft I mean why not. Im Sure he will get a invite. He's the only real ? When it comes to returning.

Jwill, I definitely want Bolden over E.J. Now if Bolden leaves, then yeah EJ works , but as long as we keep Bolden, I'll stick with who we have coming back along with the 4 horsemen.

Ej can pass and make a jumper and fluid athlete
Yes, but with our 4 studs already coming in, I don't think we need another fluid athlete. We need a beast in the middle of the paint, aka Bolden.

I'll definitely take EJ, he would be a fantastic piece off the bench, but our focus when the season ends (should be around April 2nd) needs to be on keeping Bolden in Durham next season.

I agree, but I would take ej Montgomery if we can get him. Like I said don't be surprised when bolden declares for the nba draft. Question is does he come back to play 20 mins a game and be 4 or 5 option as a junior
