And if you're going to state how SC did not have Dozier, how about we mention how Hicks did not play for UNC.

In the ACC tournament , UNC was on pace for a blowout until Duke caught fire. Just how the ball rolls sometimes.

I still believe that Wichita would've played Gonzaga last night had they been the 7 seed where South Carolina was.

His staying is best outcome for us - he stays, decreasing their chances with Bamba, but the rumors made it obvious he was not happy with how he was used at Duke

"Duke was a championship team this year...we just got unlucky and screwed by the NCAA Committee who gave us a hard path"

Lol, said a Dook fan never!

Hard path for Duke my ***!

The committee had no idea about SC and was expecting zone-playing Baylor to be served up to Duke as they are most years. Oops!

The only reason Duke beat UNC twice was the fact that Roy doesn't get the calls in those games.

Plus Roy can't coach.

You mean to say we lost a true road game to a Final 4 team? How terrible! :scream:

Something changed for the Cocks after they lost to Alabama in the SEC Tournament. The team that showed up in the NCAAs would have beaten U.K. in the regular season and won the SEC.

I'm not sure what Frank Martin did but he flipped a switch for the Gamecocks.

Before you make fun of me, remember that you lost to a UNC team that Duke beat by double digits just the week before in the ACC Tournament.

Duke was a championship team this year...we just got unlucky and screwed by the NCAA Committee who gave us a hard path.
UNC beat UK on a last second shot after a crapload of bad calls in the first half that cost UK a bunch of points.
Gonzaga made quick work of the team that kicked Duke's a$$, it wasn't close.
Also, everyone knew South Carolina was a physical team, duke should have beaten them.
And don't give us that BS about playing a road game, until recently, Duke and UNC* *********** got to play their games in North Carolina. So now all the sudden it's unfair? You guys had a team that was supposed to be the best of all time. Don't believe me? Just ask Jay Bilas and Jay Will.
Also, Marquette came close to beating USC than Duke did, how do you explain that?

Wendell Carter Jr. is 6"10, you think he can't protect the rim? We also have Antonio Vrankovic backing him up who should be able to provide us with quality spot minutes.

It's not like Mo Bamba is the only guy who is capable of protecting the rim next year in college basketball.
I think we heard these same things about Giles and Boldon.

We had to play an elite Cocks team in their backyard in Greenville, SC with drunk UNC fans cheering against us after their miraculous win over Arkansas.

No one could have beaten Carolina that night.
BS, and they were not elite. South Carolina is a 3rd place team from the sorry SEC. Now all the sudden you guys want to say that an SEC team, not named UK, is "elite"? Did I just read that right?

Maybe if you guys were seeded properly (4), you would have faced a non SEC team.
South Carolina didn't just figure out how to play in 4 days, they were tough all year, but they lost to Clemson, without Thornwell, and all your ACC homers called them crap. So eat it.

Carter is an amazing player but he isn't a low post guy. He likes to be on the floor , shoot 3's ect and has to at many times be forced to go down low where he has an advantage ie in other words a perfect fit for Duke.

That may be…. In high school. But in college, he's going to have to do what's best for the team he's playing on.

Carter is a force, he is special. Great balance, size and isn't he ambidextrous? But like this year, he is ball dominant amongst other ball dominant guys. That's what separates US from them is exactly the opposite.

yes it was
but I'll tell you this - all this crap he did? I really have a gut feeling it was scripted by a certain asst coach at Duke.
If I'm wrong, okay - apologies and all that, but Capel has no scruples when it comes to this stuff. You think K is the one recruiting the OADs? Nope, it's Capel; he makes the promises to get them there.

just my opinion, of course

That was the rumor at the time. Capel allegedly told him to hold off announcing until the final signing period so UK wouldn't have time to recruit Jarrett Allen and it worked.

"Bolden has announced that he is going to wait until next year to transfer in a snit, because transferring now could damage the Coach K brand."

It would be poetic justice if we got Bamba because he announced he was staying and after Bamba signs Bolden leaves Duke. :joy:
