I think the obvious answer is that Jeter has probably been out-working him in practice. Jeter got rewarded last night by getting to start and a chance to shine. Probably using it as a motivational tool for Bolden.
Watching this team, K is really going to have a hard time giving guys enough playing time to keep them happy. They really are deep. Jeter doesn't deserve to only see mop up minutes. He's a sophomore and it's obvious he's put in a lot of work.
Right now it almost a blessing Giles is going to have to set out for a while. I think you can have too many alpha dogs on a team. With Giles, going to be too many guys on that team that need touches and expect to score a lot of points.
The Golden State situation may be a good analogy for Duke this year. So far, adding one more superstar to that team has brought the team down.
