Damn, I thought Blackshear was all about the Cats. Hopefully we can still somehow snag him, doesn’t seem likely now.
Silly post. He was never all about the Cats . And also very silly from the stand point this is his first visit. He will take others and UK will get one IMO . UK is playing from behind in this though since we got both guys back. People can say what they want but UK has 3 guys over 6'8 that have proven to be at least good college players ( and Sestina is great) and UF has none . Their best post player is 6'5 in Johnson . This would a huge get by Cal as Blackshear would have to share the 4 and 5 between 3 other guys while at UF he would be the only true post player of note. And that isn't even bringing Brooks into the picture.

Lets hope he cares more about the NBA then playing time as if he does he will be fine with 25 minutes and starting at UK compared to 38 minutes and starting at UF but being on a 3 seed type team instead of a 1 seed team . We will see. UK is the best team regardless but with Blackshear we are a 36-4 type team without more like 34-6 and MSU has an argument .

I don't see Mike White wrapping anyone up in the 1st visit, but I do believe Florida is the slight favorite over UK to land Blackshear. I just can't see him going to A&M and play for a .500 team in his last year of college basketball. Florida would definitely be a good squad with him.

In what world have Nick and EJ proven to be good college basketball players? They may be someday but they sure haven't show in yet.You are living in a dream world.

Pretty simple the way read it. Stay home, be told by coach you will start & play a lot of minutes for a good team. Or go away from home, be told no guarantees to start with a 3rd year 7 footer vying for your spot.

I never thought he would be like RT and just take one visit. He seems to want to be sure but I also think he give a visit to A&M as a favor to Buzz.

I hope your right but grad transfers tend to move very quickly and alot commit after their first visit. Thats why i wanted the 1st visit to be in Lex. I think Cal wouldve wrapped it up.

I never understood the fascination with what number visit it is. If you love a place you will love it the first, second, or 1 millionth time you visited it.

As stated above...grad transfers have a tendency to commit to the first school they visit. So when dealing with grad-transfers it’s optimal to be the first visit.

I think people are over rating him a bit
He is a 21 year old that the NBA didn't see fit to invite to the combine

I just don't see KB going to UF with his NBA aspirations. Seems logical to me that he would go to a program best suited to get him there. I may be wrong, but UF isn't that big a step up up from VA Tech. Outside of what Donovan did, UF IS VA Tech LOL Just sayin.
Some will say Reid Travis came to UK with the same aspiration but it doesn't look like it helped get him to the NBA.

Care about whatever moves you. I'm describing reality - Gainesville is a town saturated with football. Lexington is a town saturated with basketball. Plenty of people in both places care about both, but to deny there is a clearly established tone in both places is to deny the truth. If I'm a college basketball player looking to be inspired during my final push to the NBA, I want to be where Hoops Is King.
I have no issue w that. UK is obviously an NBA feeder ground—with dozens of active players vs 9 for UF.

I just think UK puts more investment in football than ANY other SEC school does in basketball—and by far more fans. There’s no comparison.

That’s bad on UF for not fostering the investment in basketball—as they have two NCAAs

Stupid to get your hopes up he’s not coming here never was
Not true what do you base that on. Most experts favor us. He obviously needs to improve to go in draft. Ky is the best place.playing zone all year will do very little to help him. He will get much better coaching and experience at Kentucky he knows that

My opinion on Blackshear, is the same as my opinion on RJH... both are UK guys all the way, but understand Cal has to be loyal to “his” guys. Unfortunately, someone has to be left off the train.

No but I bet he was talked about more in one season at UK than he was four years at Stanford. Reid was limited as is Blackshear or he would be NBA bound.
