Per Corey Evans on Twitter.

“Big one for Florida tomorrow as they will host arguably the top grad-transfer available this spring in Virginia Tech’s Kerry Blackshear, sources confirm with @Rivals.”

I hope he leaves Florida without a commitment to the Gators. If so, I'd feel good about UK really impressing him and having a fresher visit on his mind when he does decide (not that that would really mean anything, but still).

I want to like Mike white because he looks like a fun little brother but he hasn’t proven he can coach at all. Florida will build a little hype and then fade to nothing by the end of the year. This will happen with or without KB. If he wants exposure past the end of January he might want to look elsewhere.

Let's see...should he split minutes with EJ, Nick and Sestina or be the MAIN option for 40 minutes at Florida? He'll definitely get more exposure here, but that doesn't necessarily mean a higher draft pick. The campus, beautiful girls, and being so close to home probably gives them the edge. However, can never count out Cal.

actually i think in terms of NBA playing 22 minutes a game at UK is better for someone like Blackshear than 35 minutes at Florida. He's already played on team the equivalent of Florida at Va Tech for 3 years and couldn't get a sniff in the draft. He's not going to show anything more at Florida than he did at Va Tech or he would at UK, what he needs is the Cal/Kentucky bump. Cal can't magically snap his fingers and make anyone a top 10 pick but he will get Reid on a NBA team at least for the summer, he got Willis on one, and DHawk too and if anyone can help get Blackshear a look if he isn't going to get drafted it's Cal. Plus if he comes to UK we're the title favorites no ifs, ands, buts about it. Florida is still the 3rd team in the SEC even with him, the NCAA tournament/FInal 4 bump is real too.

Gainesville was close to his home when he made his original college choice and it didnt matter. Maybe he didn't have an offer, but if he played in the ACC I'm sure he could've got a D-1 scholarship to one of the many D-1 schools in Florida originally. Maybe playing close to home wasn't that important
