If he has a relationship with the staff at Tennessee and they're asking him to wait, I'd imagine he'll wait. What harm would it do assuming he believes it's going to resolved shortly?

Again, this is of course assuming he wants to go to Tennessee. I have no idea one way or the other.

The scholarship thing was the first thing that crossed my mind when he didn't commit on Sunday. Unless he's truly torn (which is entirely possible), then Tennessee's situation makes sense when you try to come up with reasons why it's taking so long.

This is goofy follow the girlfriend to Knoxville????? The hell with her you have a basketball future ahead of you should I choose Rick Barnes ( who takes his name out of consideration left and right for things ) or should I choose Coach Calipari ( the man that would prepare me the best and get me ready for the NBA ) ask Pat Riley he knows what's going on at UK. We've had 2 four star prospects the last 2 seasons go from no where on the draft board to lottery picks that don't just happen out of the blue folks you have to be DEVELOPED!

My only real concern with this is the time he is wasting not having already joined a team when relationships are begun and sorting out together has started. The only delay that honestly makes since to me is him going to UT and waiting fo a scholarship to open.

I think if it was UK he would have already said so and committed. He is maybe torn between 2 crappy schools that's why he hasn't said anything yet.

As said above, waiting for UT to release someone. (or someone gets arrested)
Waiting for the check to clear or increase in the team's salary cap, whoever that may be.
I have always believed that KB was Plan B if Nick or EJ left. KB wants VT like minutes. IMO. If UK can help KB, it's in daily practice, not game PT.

on Florida 24/7 site and I just read on VT 24/7 site. Apparently someone on our team, big man has failed 4 drug tests. We are needing him to fill this persons place. Apparently dad and mom are upset with Barnes because they found out after the visit and not from Barnes himself. Supposedly they know TN will get him the touches they think he needs and are just concerned Florida will use him for screens.Supposedly down to us and Florida. He’s coming for one year, so the “commitment” of Barnes is a moot point (plus, if he is leaving VT, I think he understands the business side of basketball).

Additionally, Barnes’ development is not a weak point for him. THREE drafted this year that were on no one’s radar in high school. That’s not hitting the lottery - it’s development. He maximized every ounce of potential out of Grant, Ad, and Bone. It’s similar to what Cal did with Harrelson, which is a much better comparison to the product Barnes’ inherited.

Lastly, Blackshear knows he can step
In and take Grant’s touches as a facilitator big man. It’s not some empty promise, it’s literally running the same offense as we did last year.

He can’t go wrong with any choice of UK(fewer touches but better chance of natty), UT (best chance to maximize his playing time) and UF (the compromise of the above two options).

Look for a decision today mid afternoon. That’s what I’m hearing at least. Take it for what it’s worth. Not trying to troll, and don’t claim to be an insider. Just what I hear from two separate sources who I do consider connected.
