I believe there's zero chance this kid stays, zero. This is just another article like we've read every year and then boom, mass exodus, this year will be no different, only way, is that it will likely be worse. I believe he should and ultimately it would be beneficial to both parties, though this is Cal we're talking about...he's gone.

I completely understand looking at the last 10 years and thinking "why is this year any different".. and ultimately, I think that's a solid line of thinking.

But.. we all know, and have said, this is NOT the normal group of kids Cal has. And if we believe that, then by nature, there's less of an opportunity in the NBA, for this group as a whole.

I still think Boston is gone, someone is going to take him. But he struggled far more than so many of our other 1st round picks. This is slightly different territory, this 2020/21 UK team.

I would say it depends on who has his ear, we have seen kids before who went early because someone behind the scene was pushing the kids to go. If he actually got draft at what an above article says, I think he is gone, don't think he is ready. But if he can get his money then go for it.

You have to remember ... fundamentally, Calipari doesn't give a damn about Boston or his future. Calipari cares about Calipari. Calipari has to move Boston out, and Calipari will demand that Boston enter the draft because (a) Boston didn't turn out to be the player that Calipari expected, based on Boston's rankings by the high school ratings services, and (b) Calipari has to make room for the next "hottest recruit since sliced bread" - whoever that is - so that Calipari can sell that recruit on the proposition that he's the most important recruit that Calipari's ever had, etc., etc., and (c) Calipari will be afraid that his "players first" b.s., and "U.K. is the express lane to the NBA" will take a hit if his No. 1 recruit in his most recent No. 1 recruiting class doesn't go to the NBA in the first round (and Calipari will kiss somebody's *** in the NBA to make that happen).

This is why we should play in the NIT if we can get an invite. WCS said the Robert Morris loss was instrumental in his returning. Sometimes it takes that extra nudge to show a player they’re not ready.

That said, BJ was probably gone before he set foot on campus.

Based upon all the reports of his beliefs about himself, he can't stay. Who else had others film a document with his arrival and season (what they must have to edit out is the challenge). Plus, as terrible as he has been that "expert" with the crazy A- just said in the 1 for 9 last game he is still a potential first round draft. I don't see it but I am not the expert. I go on what I see and the silliest part is as OldBlue just said we have seen other players follow this same path and you never hear of them again. I have no issue with confidence or ego, but at some point I wish some of these kids would get a harsh reality check before making a life decision that they can't change.

There is no "hot" recruit left out there to get. And, I don't think Calipari will be the reason Boston decides not to come back. But, I do think Boston will leave if he is considered a 1st round pick - it's probably too risky not to take the guaranteed money.

Boston if he would return and help lead KY to a deep run in the NCAA Tourney next season would win over a lot of BBN and his draft stock would sore.

Boston would be best served to return. He’s getting better but hasn’t shown his potential as a shooter and frequently misses at the rim. If he cleans that up he goes from a low first rounder maybe second round bc of his build to probably a top 10 pick. We re talking millions of dollars. Seems like a no brainer business decision especially without the ncaa to go off and showcase talent. He will be falling on draft boards while others step up in the tourney which is where the money is made

We will absolutely lose 5-9 players and the bulk of our players regardless.

Hard to be excited for next year when it seems will only be marginally better than our current 8-15 at best. Then, after another disappointing season next year another 5-9 guys will leave.

Calipari is simply no longer getting the elites/ transcendent guys and he hasn’t for years. With the exception of a random PJ he also isn’t getting solid veterans to stick around 2-3 years anymore. This is why there’s been such a stark difference in this first 5 years and these past 6 years.

His model is broken. We have ho hum players coming in next year. We had ho hum players this year. Ho hum players are good but not when they quit mid season, transfer after seasons end, declare for the draft, go undrafted or leave to go overseas like our ho hum players do every single year.

Broken model- rinse and repeat.

If he comes back and sucks again, there goes that potential they draft on. If the money is there he has to go

If Calipari cares about only Calipari then why wouldn’t he do whatever it takes to fix the the roster issue . Another question I have to ask, with some on here saying boosters are wanting Cal gone then someone should ask those same boosters who they have in mind to fill the seat.

You don’t get it obviously. Boston got off to a very slow start and is just now starting to show glimpses of his potential. He’s getting better. He wouldn’t come back and suck: the difference in money over the long run is substantial if he comes back and has a better start. Short term thinking is why people go homeless. One and done isn’t for everyone especially for a guy who started the way Boston did.

yeah I mean obviously i don’t wish the guy any ill-will but the vanity is obnoxious. Especially considering he’s not even that good.

Remember when Boston got hot from 3 in consecutive games, and we were all "There he is! The Boston we expected!"

Since those games, he has shot 4/21 from 3 and 7/23 from 2.

He's a poor shooting, high usage guard. His greatest strength is that he doesn't turn the ball over. If he discovers any bit of shooting efficiency, he will bloom.

I agree but I don’t think Boston is that type of player who’s willing to sacrifice ANYTHING for the greater good. I don’t think he is a cancer necessarily, but his selfish play has killed us this year. If he comes back will he feel a need to showcase himself even more since he “failed” & had to return for the dreaded 2nd season at UK? I despise the never ending exodus of players but he is one guy that I won’t miss. He just seems to be all about himself only & players like that don’t lead teams anywhere but home. See Russ Westbrook.

The may all leave like usual but this year for certain any GM who takes anyone outside of IJ deserves to be fired.
