That tells you Kansas knows the NCAA is a joke and nothing will be done to them over paying players!
They are getting away with murder and throwing it in the NCAA's face.Are they ever going to do something about it?
It is more likely they realize some NCAA sanctions maybe on their way and Self bolts. Maybe easier to weather the storm with him still there rather than some new Coach.

If I’m Cal and I’m reading this, I’m going back to my grey area recruiting from Memphis. The mistake that was made at Memphis and UMASS is the school admitted it. Also, if any school ever admits fault from here on our they deserve whatever punishment comes their way.

It will be interesting to see how this would work if he received a show cause penalty by the NCAA. I guess they would just have one of his assistants coach during his absence. Surely they put some language in the agreement to address the possibility of this happening.

The term “lifetime contract” is so overused with Cal. Cal’s contract ends in 2029. Self, according to what is posted above, will always have 5 years remaining on his contract....that’s much worse than Cal’s.
For all of you hoping the NCAA takes away wins at KU, so we keep the all time wins, not gonna happen. NCAA is now neutered, they let the Cheats neuter them.

Kind of insane right in the middle of a massive NCAA investigation with coaches literally on tape talking about paying players. The NCAA is truly useless.

This is absolutely true. Kansas Duke UNC LSU Arizona all openly cheated and got caught and the NCAA turned their heads.

I have no idea but it seems to me maybe KU is hedging. There could be a clause about sanctions that would let them out. The contract might just be about recruiting. No one will go there thinking he’s leaving.
It's like an old western, except in this episode Kansas decided to drag the NCAA out of the saloon and publicly teabag them. I swear if I worked for the NCAA I'd have to shave in the dark because looking myself in the mirror would not be an option.

And based on the five Highest Level cheating charges filed against Kansas by the NCAA, the Jailhawks have to cheat to get into the tournament. You'd think being that dirty would let you stay closer than 34 points to a #6 seed.
