Some here laughed me off the board for saying Pope would be really good here. His team is top 10. He coaches at BYU. LMAO!
As of right now, if Cal were to retire at the end of the season, he's my pick.

Part of me is really hoping Holtmann figures it out at OSU. That's literally only because he's from Nicholasville, grew up a UK fan and coaches at Ohio State. If he were a prospect it'd be so obvious.

I think Mark is in a perfect situation at BYU and probably should retire there.

Why?

He'd make a ton more money here and be able to come home and be at the top of the sport. Not to mention the obvious advantages of coaching at UK vs BYU.

Mark is Morman so that make him a perfect fit.
Mark is also more of a West Coast guy.
Has anyone ever left BYU and had success somewhere else.
IMO, when we get a new coach he'll be a lot like like our old coach(s).
You have to want to be a CBB kingpin to coach successfully here.
No flakey personalities (BCG) or coaches with a mid major mentality (Tubby).
I love Mark the player but he only played here two years so I'd say he's more "home" in Provo than he would be in Lexington.

That makes a ton of sense.

I mean I still make the offer, but you had me at Mormon at BYU and West Coast guy.

Was he found guilty?
This isn’t a court of law, we can all look at the evidence and make up our own minds. I think he’s a domestic abuser. When there’s that much smoke there’s fire. Texas, with their boatload of high powered attorneys felt the same.

I don’t want him anywhere near the program. If he was ever hired that would pretty much be the end of my fandom. My NFL fandom has waned severely in recent years in no small part because of how the league has handled abusers and predators. Guys like Tyreek Hill are worshiped and Deshaun Watson got hundreds of millions of dollars guaranteed.

If Beard comes to Rupp in any way other than standing on the opposing bench I’m out.

I’m just asking who are some of the best young coaches out there and how do you know that
Why would he? Hurley has it made there and just signed a 6-year extension. Not exactly a guy looking to be on the move.

Matt McMahon has LSU much improved over last year. Too soon to know for sure but someone to keep an eye on.

To me Scott Drew is top of the food chain for a Cal replacement in the next 3 years.
After that who knows.
He's by far the closest natural fit and the safest hire for not letting the program slip.
Safe to say with Drew, UK would continue to have a stacked roster every year

There's a few good ones on the rise. But if Cal left today I would want Vogel. If he says no I wouldn't look at any coach that hasn't take a team to a FF. Vogel hasn't done that but he did win a world championship in the NBA.

Only thing he is good at is beating on women.

Can't believe some of our fans would want that pos here.

So the woman he allegedly hit dropped the charges against him (in other words, she was either physically attacking him and he was defending himself and she forgave him, OR she just made the whole thing up) but you, a total stranger on a message board who has never met Mr. Beard, by God you won’t forgive him will you? Nope you will call the man a POS and condemn him.

There’s a difference between never hitting a woman, and defending yourself from an attack. And if you don’t think there’s some crazy drunken ****** out there that can put a hurtin on ya, you ain’t been around much.

Tony Skinn.

For those that do not know him, he was starting point guard on George Mason's final four team a few years back. He is in his first year as head coach at GMU. He had some significant assistant positions with power 5 schools before he became head coach at GMU this year.

I recently went to the Tulane-George Mason game. I sat in the first row behind the George Mason bench. I was very impressed. Is in game adjustments, his handling of players, etc. etc.

I am going to follow him. I think he has a bright bright future in college basketball coaching.

Wes Miller is definitely a very good young coach.

He's 40 years old. He's in his third year at UC and hitting his stride. They're 12-2 so far. And yesterday they upset Mark Pope's BYU squad 71-60 to open Big12 play.
Didn't see CJ in the box score, is he hurt again?

He is a POS and I have no doubt money got him out of charges. Can't wait until UK whips his *** at Rupp either.

And it's hilarious people defend the wife beater but talk crap about calipari constantly. call him dumbass nicknames and make fun of his weight and on and on but the wife beater mist be defended and is a good guy lmao.

Option 3: he did get physical w/ her, but after re-considering the change in lifestyle she'd be incurring by pursuing it legally, she had a change of heart @ what she was willing to tolerate

Holtmann will probably be out of a job soon, anyway.

IMO this dude caught lightning in a bottle with this current group (even they are coming to earth a bit). I won’t put him on the next great thing list until he sustains it with completely different parts. Time will tell.

Just for the record, that’s absolutely not what dropping the charges implies. What happened with Beard is actually a textbook example of what happened when rich men beat their partners.
