Y’all use anyone?

Was thinking about just paying for a guys top picks and betting that way, any recommendations?

If the goal is to make money, and one doesn’t have the time for in-depth research, it’s pretty clear why a professional would be sought out.

But maybe that’s above your head, I dunno.

Honestly, if you tailed his picks last year he was up like 50 something units in college football last year. Really hoping he replicates that this year. Just don’t take his picks in any other sport. Especially the NFL. Lol.

Don't. It's hard enough to already beat the book by having a win percentage of 52.5% or higher (and that's assuming you are betting flat lines at -110). When you throw in the mix paying someone, you will lose every time.

Edited: or will make losing much more likely.

If it's fun and you enjoy doing a little sports gambling to take the edge off that's fine, but let's not act like there's ANY skill involved in anything that any "handicapper" is doing. Are they looking for an edge? Sure, but the chances of them finding and exploiting one good enough to continuously beat the house is slim to none.

So there’s nobody out there that consistently goes 6-4/7-3 out of 10 on a weekly basis? Are you actually implying the ads I hear on the radio are embellishing ?!?!

Listen to RJ Bell’s ‘Dream Preview’ podcast sometime. Him and Steve Fezzik are incredibly sharp. Especially in the NFL. I tend to agree with you that the majority of ‘handicappers’ that are trying to sell picks are crap. But there are some dudes out there who are legitimate. Luckily, that Dream Preview pod is free to listen to. So you don’t have to pay for picks.

If you listen to the prep work and detail they go into for games, and trying to find value in lines, it’s amazing.

Thought of a business years ago.

Guaranteed picks against the spread for $10. Money back if I'm wrong.
Odd "customers" get team 1, even get team 2.
As long as 2 or more buy in, "it's a profit thing".

I don't often think I know WWJD, but I think I'm decent at WWJnotD.
Pretty sure that business would be frowned upon.

I think Ace Rothstein is probably still the best. Obviously he’s no longer at the Tangiers but he can still pick a winner.

A couple Guys that have surfaced using google are Jeff Hochman and Steve Fezzik. I’ve never followed any handicappers or really engaged in sports betting, so figured I would see if any on here have recommendations.

Apparently everyone sucks according to SPS.

It is exactly what most touts do. I fell down that hole several years ago, it is a waste of money. No legitimate handicapper sells picks, they don't have to.

I am with everyone else. You can't out guess Vegas. You really cannot do it. They get juice which hedges the bets. Never ever do this to make money. Now, if you want to have some fun and make a few bucks or lose a few bucks, go for it.

Pick a guy and ride with him. You could do worse than BFW for college football.

What really amuses me is the number of people who believe these sites that claim 80% of the money is on one side of the bet. No it's not. It's 50-50. And Vegas makes a killing on it every week.

They don’t say “80% of the money”, they say “80% of the bets.”

The dumb money make up 80% of the bets and the sharks come in with the big money to even it out.

I haven’t listened to RJ’s podcast but when Cowherd was still at ESPN RJ came on his show every Friday and that dude was good. Made decent lettuce listening to him. I’ve never been much of a podcast listener but will hafta check his out.
