Draft starts Thursday, who you got?
If Jeanty or Graham is there, they run to the podium with the pick. Warren I'm ok with, but I love Kmet so I'm ok of they pass there.
Ultimately with all the talk and all the options I feel like the Bears go OL or trade back. I see Jeanty going to the Raiders at 6 and Graham being gone in the top 5 so thay leaves one of the top 2 OL being available for the Bears. That's great and builds depth, but could provide great value if guys like Warren and Sanders are still there at 10. Love the options Bears have, but hate that it's not an overall deep draft.

The thing I like most when it comes to this draft is this. The Bears actually have choices here. They aren't forced to draft yet another QB in the first round. I agree with what Corey said a while ago. My gut says and hopes they draft an O-lineman in round one. But since they have choices, they may take another route.
Just don't reach at 10.
Mocks are all over the place with Sanders going top 10 or out of R1 (I do not believe that for one second though).

You're right. Mocks are all over the place. No idea what direction they will go in. That's good, because they seem to have addressed their glaring needs in FA. I wouldn't mind them trading down for additional draft capital. They still need to build depth on the team, but I'm not sure there is going to be much interest in trading up to #10.
As a Bears' fan, I'm really watching day 2 for rounds 2 and 3. Poles can't afford anymore busts like Velus Jones in that area of the draft. He needs to draft 3 contributors, at a minimum, with their three picks in rounds 2 and 3. And this draft is not strong at the top, but it's supposed to be deep, so there definitely should be ample talent in those rounds.
I think Skattebo at the top of the 2nd would be too much of a reach. Most mocks have him going in the 3rd or 4th round.
If Jeanty is gone at 10, and I think he will be, then Johnson, Henderson, or Judkins are the next possible options. All 3 should still be there in the 2nd and there's the option the Bears could trade back in the 2nd and still get one of those three.

From who? Everyone knew QB was the Bears biggest need and it wasn't addressed in free agency.
In looking at the article, I do like the idea of the Bears getting out of the city. Such a nightmare to get in and out of the stadium. And if the proper infrastructure isn't in place when they open in Arlington Heights or elsewhere it will be a nightmare as well.
There are challenges with Rt. 53 and I am not sure much can be done about it. They've had up to 40K at the same site before, so it's not like this is completely "new" territory. Yes, I understand 40K is not what an NFL game/concert/WWE on the site would bring.
I go up to that area and north on business every so often. 53 is at least a divided highway without lights and with exits all the way up north to Lake Cook Road and can be worked with. It is nice to have 90 coming from the east and west. But it runs south of the proposed sight. And 355 to 290 coming from the south is a good entrance as well.
Can't really disagree on the 53 point you make. It would be nice to add a lane, but, as you say, a challenge. However, I still see that sight as a vast improvement than navigating the city with no entrance at all from the East. No doubt, added infrastructure must be in the plans.
In comparing to Arrowhead, that stadium holds 80,000. Coming from the north you have I-35 and I-29 to 70 and to 270, as well as from the east and west and 435 from the south. So it feeds very nicely. There is a lot more traffic in the Chicago area in general than KC for sure. And I only use an example. If they figure out the traffic from the north it can work much better than what is currently in place. Again, you make a good point.
The Metra station certainly will help with people coming from city and hopefully it being "on-site" will persuade more to go that route.
At the end of the day it's Chicagoland and traffic is traffic. There will be 70-80K people heading there, it's going to get congested. I just hope they can do whatever they can to make it a better experience than Soldier Field. IMO, it's already better since Soldier Field is a disaster to get to. But agree with your point infrastructure will need to be addressed and they are examining that.
I think we are getting closer and closer to an actually announcement/decision in the next 8 weeks or just after. It is almost May, if they really want shovels in ground in 2025 it needs to start moving soon. But as we have seen AH is not going to just bow down to them, they want the Bears but they also don't need them. So hopefully Warren doesn't do something stupid and toss something out there at the last hour....wouldn't put it past him.
What has Warren done that makes you say you wouldn't put it past him to do something stupid? Part of the reason he was hired was how he got the new Vikings stadium done.
I think the metra station on site will be HUGE once the property is fully developed with retail, housing, and hotels in addition to the stadium. It's sad that I can take the metra from downtown to AH and it only takes me about 10 minutes more than it does to get to Soldier Field from the northside.
He’s d@cked around for over a year with this lakefront project that was never going to happen. Almost like it was an ego thing. He annoys me, not saying it’s logical.
No matter who was in his position they would always listen to any offer coming from the city, even though I don't agree with that either. I don't get it because they would never own the stadium in the city which seems like a huge deal breaker to me, but I'm no genius businessman.
I just want the deal in AH to go through because if not they tore down the racetrack for no reason and that would piss me off. Nothing better than taking a Friday off in the summer to go watch the horses.
As previously stated, I'm no genius businessman, but I still don't get why Churchill wanted to unload Arlington. I know not being able to get slots was part of it, but there was no more beautiful of a track that they owned outside of Kentucky.
You both make good points about the track. I was there once in the late 80s and had a great time. What a beautiful track and facility. I am no horse racing expert. But it seems as if I read a while back that attendance was down at all the area tracks at some point.
I must say it is quite eerie to ride by that location today and see the empty space when I used to see the track all those years previous. Didn't take long to demolish it.

Plenty of easy access from East and West to Arlington Park. Take 90 and get off at Arlington Heights Road or Meacham Road or just take 53 North.

my view was that the Lakefront scenario was always a leverage play with Arlington to negotiate the tax issue and incentive package. The Bears are a business and his job is to get them the best deal possible. They are in no hurry to build just yet as they still have several years on their lease at Soldier Field. The Bears History indicates they are not going to be too keen on paying much of a penalty to break the lease. may as well use the time to their advantage.
Sure, I understand the "leverage" play but they were not fooling anyone. That whole thing they presented last year was DOA and everyone knew it. Also, the M. Reese Hospital site was never viable.

Don't like it. Bears need both of their 2nd round picks. Plenty of RB depth, no need to have blinders and over pay for Jeanty.
