Hahaha keeps getting confused with the other "Dude" Duke fan..

That's like your last name being "Hitler".
I'm assuming he's cracking a joke, but given he's relatively new to these boards, I have to believe he's just not paying enough attention to the Dude73 that is from KY (and lives in Colorado), or the dude1 who's a Duke fan that lives on our UK board...

I'm not a Duke fan. Really? Another person confusing me for thedude1. I spend way too much time clarifying this. Apology demanded.

Hey man, I was joshing you. In a past thread you showed up to announce that you weren't the Dude who is a Duke fan. You said every time that guy posts you have to defend yourself for days? Remember? I was telling you I thought it was funny? Nothing? Anyway, you ruined the special moment I thought we were going to share. Good job.

I figured as much after I posted that you were being sarcastic. You can blame the Duke dude for ruining our special moment.

honestly, it's not the criticism - it's the ugly bashing and trashing of certain players and coaching staff that always happens. Then you have the personal attacks on posters. It gets very nasty.

I stay off here for a couple of days after a loss for those reasons.

You're way too damn nice.

The meltdown circus is part of the fun of this place, indeed it's sorta what made this board well-known. If you're skipping our meltdown days, then you're missing a good chunk of the show.

I'm not new. Been here for a long, long time. Just have a new user name since last year. Had issues with my account that couldn't be repaired and such. Don't worry, I know everything about you Dude. EVERYTHING.

I like the UL logic after a loss. "We are still the best team, it's just that our coach and players suck."

This is so comical. After reading Zipps "analytical" breakdown of why UK wins more often, it alll boiled down to that. UK only wins more because they are usually the better team. Astonishing breakthrough over there.

How did this turn into a Duke thread???
Some guy uses "thedude1" as his moniker and regularly visits this forum. Along the way, many newbies here have confused me for him. BWO74 was playing off of my ongoing dilemma with that confusion in a joke that I initially missed. Hence, how Duke was brought up in this thread.

OP has a good thought, but it's just not going to happen. If we lose then it'll be melt-down central here.
I know what you are saying. Some just have to vent and get it out of their system.

It's still December and we are playing a lot of HS players, yes, they are good, but this is their first true road game. So expect them to be shell shocked, at least at first.

All that needed to be said. First road game of the year is always a shock and a challenge with Cal's young teams.

It also seems like there are a number of negative posters on the board after a loss that you usually never see or have heard of before. Those are the types that will be on here instantly bashing players and coaches no matter what you say now to try to tone them down. I'll either try to ignore them or just give myself a timeout from the board.

The men can be dramatic too, without a doubt. I think I scared my daughter at the end of that Carolina game so badly that she had to leave the room. Haha! I'm dramatic. I just don't post about it here. I wait until I'm somewhat sane again before posting my thoughts.

Never understood threads like this. People are going to ***** after a loss whether this thread is up or not.

Nice work! I'll just go ahead and add what my dad still says to this day..."We aren't going to win with these one-and-done players. Need four year guys..."

Sigh. Love my dad tho...

Thank you. That is exactly the point I was making. I thought it was obvious. I know there was some joking posts, but some people in this thread have a reading comprehension problem.

I can't believe you..just giving up like this..quitting. It's suppose to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great. - Jimmy Dugan

First true road game, The blind squirrel might find his nut(s), if he does, the UofL faithful's delusion of grandeur will be even more evident. Then again, the blind squirrel may just starve to death.

This place will be a dumpster fire, more than it already is, if UK loses. "They don't have it", "coach Cal doesn't know what he's doing", "x player needs to go", etc etc etc. Hell it's possible if we win it will be a train wreck here unless it's by 30...but then it will be, why didn't so and so get to play more.

This games a rivalry, but the bigger picture..it's a learning opportunity to get better for the end of the year.

I still don't see this being a game. As much as Louisville wants it to be I think we will shred their defense due to speed and ability to pass to open players. This team has a zone busting scheme already in place this early in the year. Louisville tends to have Sahara level scoring droughts. This in of itself will get them beat. I'm not worried it's on the road with Fox, Monk, or Briscoe.

Bam is gonna eat if he stays on the floor. Humpbries will give us what we need in the middle if Bam is in foul trouble. Pitino can't stop Monk with any scheme his players are not athletic enough to stop Monk. If the refs swallow the whistle on our side of the court and blow it on their side then I may get worried. Outside of extreme home cooking we Win.

The cards will somewhat hold Monk in check but Fox and Briscoe will make them pay. The part of the game that hurts us is the power forward spot. And louisville doesn't have that kind of player. I've seen the cards play and if they can stay within 10 I will be surprised.
