This thread is for the people that come on here after every loss and trash our players and coach. I won't name names, but there is a contingent of posters among us that do it after every loss and even after some wins.
The problem is these posters are unrealistic and expect UK to easily win every game because we have some talent, well, there are a bunch of other teams out there that are pretty freakin' talented too, so you have to at least consider that UK can lose.
So, if those posters would just take a few minutes and prepare for the following, we will ALL be better off:
-Briscoe is going to miss some shots
-Bam is going to get into foul trouble
-Monk is probably going to be held well below his average
-Fox is going to have some turnovers
-Fox is not going to get a triple double
-Mulder is not going to play and is not going to be the difference between a win and a loss, he's just not
-Marcus Lee and Poythress wouldn't have been the difference and Cal didn't push them out
-our switching defense is what it is, it's going to give up a couple of buckets, accept it
-we are probably going to get out rebounded on both ends
-we are going to get into foul trouble and UL won't
-Willis is going to give us nothing
-Wenyen is going to miss a couple of defensive assignments, he's going to get blocked, he's going to blow a layup and he's going to give up open shots
-Briscoe is going to step on the end line at least once
-Hawkins is a role player that plays hard, he's not going to hit a bunch of shots
-All of our players are going to make at least 3 mistakes

-and the most important one of all: Prepare yourselves for a loss, just do it, get it in your minds now so it's not a shocker later.

Now, if any or all of these items don't happen, but you are prepared for them to happen, you will be in a better mood.
It's still freakin December and we are playing a lot of HS players, yes, they are good, but this is their first true road game. So expect them to be shell shocked, at least at first.
But don't belittle UL, they are a strong defensive team and they are tired of losing to daddy. So again, just get it in your minds now that UK COULD lose this game. If they do, it won't be a bad loss. So just Chill the F out.

No Willis ? Hmmm..I like your thinking !! He's the difference maker in this one. Breakout game..I'm calling it now. Just like Harrellson had his breakout game at Louisville in 2010/2011.

I'm prepared. I think UK is up against it tonight.

Damn OP, you conceding already? Sounds like it. Grow a set.
LOL, no, I'm not conceding anything , I think UK will win, but I'm not going to come on here and trash our guys if we don't. Because I'm not unrealistic, I know it's possible that we can lose. Some don't, or can't, comprehend that.

Ha! A prepare to lose message. I hate to break it to you my friend, but if UK loses tonight, there WILL BE a meltdown on this page. No amount of preparation will change that. I love the sentiment though. We would all do well to temper our comments about specific players and their perceived shortcomings.

I'll be rooting for UK but I think realistically the refs involved and the potential for a bounce after an emotional win are big negatives tonight.

I definitely think we start out really slow tonight and may struggle tonight as a whole. The letdown effect after an extremely emotional game that was the UNC game is a very real entity. You see it time and time again with every kind of team. From experienced to teams like us, every team can be effected after a big win or big performance. May be a good idea to play Willis, Dom, and Mulder more this game and I imagine he will. These guys have been through this fire before and none of them had much of anything to do with the UNC game, so I think we see more minutes from all 3 of them. Just my opinion though. I'm sure it will be ripped to shreds. Lol

Haha! Let's just say, I'm all about letting people vent, within reason. Of course, I hope we won't have to deal with that side of it at all.

As far as I'm concerned, we got our statement win against UNC. The Tarheels are good enough and experienced enough to remain a top10 team all year.. but probably higher. UofL would be nice, especially because it's a rival.. but they won't be the same caliber win as UNC when it's all said and done.

honestly, it's not the criticism - it's the ugly bashing and trashing of certain players and coaching staff that always happens. Then you have the personal attacks on posters. It gets very nasty.

I stay off here for a couple of days after a loss for those reasons.

OP has a good thought, but it's just not going to happen. If we lose then it'll be melt-down central here.

Damn, talk about a Debbie Downer approach to Kentucky games. Do you take this approach to everything - expect the worst and be surprised if the best happens? Odd lifestyle.

No one cares what a Duke fan thinks Dude. Seriously man. GTFO.

Lol.

I'm way too sore of a loser to come on this board after a loss. I won't even watch the news or read the paper.

Exactly. With some, it starts before the game is even over...before the first half is even over!
