I’m not even gonna lie I don’t know what a “stock” isLooks like YOU are the one NOT using your BRAIN. Stats also demonstrate what I said, where Mitchell only averaged 1.2 STOCKs/gm. That's not good for a player playing 33mpg. That's 1 every 28 minutes. For comparison sake, the past 2 years the 2 worst non-guards for UK in STOCKs were Almonor (an atrocious 1 every 51 min) & Kam Williams 1 every 21 min.
So, both statistics/metrics and scouting reports say Mitchell is a bad defender.
What's your proof otherwise? Oh, "because you said so".

5 rebounds a game in the toughest conference is rebounding well maybe not half as good as a player of his size should but he averages more rebounds than like half our team

I think Kohler addresses more weaknesses than Mitchell but we’d be extremely fortunate to land either one
They both hurt Kentucky when we played them, I don’t see how we could go wrong with either one of them. Mitchell can score and was unstoppable at times and Kohler is a physical player who can rebound and score too. Whoever commits first I guess, I would rather get one than lose both of them if waiting was the reason we lost both.

I would be happy with either one. That said, when the choice is between a star player and a role player at the same position I'm always going with the star and let the coach figure it out. Jimmy's and Joe's over x's and O's. Mitchell also creates a lot of foul trouble for opposing teams bigs that doesn't really show up in the stat sheet.

You mean like Garrison could score and rebound good enough to not be a major liability. On this board we complained for 2 years about Oscar's defense, and Mitchell makes Oscar look like Anthony Davis on the defensive end (ok, maybe a slight exaggeration, but you get my point)
And for the rebounding, if you don't consider the minutes those come in you are STUPID. 4.6 rebounds per30minutes is BAD even in the SEC. How did UK (also an SEC team) players rebound the past 2 years?

And no, I watched lots of games that Mitchell played in. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good player (he's a slightly bigger Oweh except for defense). He just does not fill our biggest NEEDS (rebounding and defense). I'd take him over Hall. Just not over Kohler, who does fill our biggest needs.
And no I don't rely on anyone individual's statistics. I look at lots of sources. And I am a STATISTICIAN, and know that those who call Statistics "BS" are often simply mathematically challenged.
Some people get more Steals, others get more Blocks, some get a mix of both. Both stats are an act of taking the ball from your opponent (albeit the one doesn't guarantee your team gets possession, but more often than not it does). So combining them into one stat does make some sense.
So your telling me right now that you think given 30 minutes of play time that Jelavic would average 8+ rebounds and Trent Noah would average 7+

If we could have either player and they are eligible from the start, I prefer Kohler. But I would be happy with either one, as long as Pope can get one of them to sign.

Idk why he wouldn’t he took Chandler and Jaxson Robinson the first year and every year since that BYU has had more money to spend which means he hasn’t been able to get as many guys from them.
Either of them makes us a top 5-10 team and a legit Final Four contender, so I'm fine with either of them.

Well then you are STUPID. Not to mention you rounded up (I think it was 7.6 for Jelavic and 6.5 for Noah). Not to mention from watching games I thought Noah was a pretty solid rebounder, I'm actually surprised he doesn't calculate out to the 7's. Maybe he just got "timely" rebounds.

It was a little closer before the news dropped last night, but the majority looks like they still wanted Mitchell. HAVE to make this happen, now.
I think if he is cleared he will be at UK. Would be huge and lead to an, albeit miraculous with how it happened, fairly elite on paper UK roster that should at minimum make the elite 8 and have a shot at more.
If we want to have a chance at winning anything meaningful you have to get Mitchell. If you're a UK fan to the core and love your cats no matter what then we are ok without him.
