Right. What you are describing is a blue blood. That's Duke. Are we still??

Yeah he's from Louisiana, that's nice and all, but this is UK. That's supposed to mean something.

If he goes to the NBA, is he just gonna sit out unless he's drafted by New Orleans? Of course not
Yeah, but I'm describing a singular program. If what I said about Duke means UK isn't a blue-blood - even if that matters - then no other program is either. It looks to me like Duke is at the top of the food chain currently in CBB recruiting and that applies to every other program, not just UK. As for LSU in the specific case of Graves, would you say Duke is not a blue-blood if Graves withdraws from the draft and picks LSU over Duke?

Louisville needs to F off, hope their students enjoy never getting campus upgrades because all their tuition was spent on the basketball team
Does student tuition fund athletics ?? I really don't know, but didn't think so. I always thought athletic programs were funded outside a school's general fund, but do not pretend to know.

Jon Rothstein just put out an article saying Duke and UConn are the only current blue bloods. To your point. Not saying I necessarily agree with that totally but there is some truth to it.

And no to the second part. According to you, Duke is at least being heavily considered by him and we are not. That's the whole problem

It was more a joke than anything lol, more just along the lines that Louisville has decided to dump all their money into this basketball team. Would actually love to know where tuition is allocated, though!

Not sure about the only 2 blue bloods just due to what I define as a blue blood. It's clear they are head and shoulders above everyone else. Even more clear to 18-22 years olds looking for a place to play. Between the 2 they have won one out of every 3 titles (11/35) since 1991.

It's actually so hilarious how greedy Duke is and the fact they just try to cram every top player onto their roster. They have 0 room left and they want to add more top 10 transfers after already adding blackwell to a top recrutiting class AND their returners, repulsive.
Scheyer will have his hands full trying to keep all those mouths fed and egos happy.

I don't buy this family sh*t any more than I did with Collin. It's an excuse.

Tell your family to deal with it, you have an opportunity to play at Kentucky. He's the pro athlete in the family. He's the one making all the scratch.
If it wasn’t his family or if he wasn’t a LA native it would be something else. Ppl still making excuses even after Pope has missed on literally every top target he’s gone after. But, none of them are his fault & there are countless, valid reasons why.

Did it matter that we had plenty of money & PT available for Kinney & Stokes, who also had families & were from KY? That was excused away, too. By their logic, both guys should’ve been easy gets.

He was willing to leave home to play 2 years for Santa Clara, but the University of Kentucky? No can do. Make it make sense.

Rothstein has always been a total Douche bag so there is that to consider.

I'm just going off of what I read here about Graves decision only being between LSU or Duke. As I said, I think Duke has looked like they “eat first” in recruiting for many years now – meaning, more than any other program, they mostly get who they want regardless of who else wants the player. Plus, it seems they have been at another level when it comes to being able to retain freshmen that are on draft boards or would typically transfer due to playing time/competition if they were at other programs.

Calipari and Scheyer (still?) seem to be the only ones trying to win with OAD freshmen leading the way each year. Which as a UK fan I’m fine with, because I don’t believe that’s the smartest path to winning titles for programs that could also retain and attract the best upperclassmen. But my concern now is that Duke may be/is starting to focus more on the transfer portal for “stars,” and not just role player bench pieces. If you can stack top recruiting classes by keeping a lot of high potential freshmen for a 2nd year and then dominate the transfer portal to add to that – which is not what Calipari really wanted or tried to do – that’s troublesome for any program wanting to be the top dog.

We're not going to land any of theses guys.

But let's talk about how underrated our team will be headed into next season. We have all summer. I'm sure we'll get really creative in the process. We had Lowe as a potential first rounder this time last year, and Mo D was baby Rodman. Garrison was ready to "take a serious step forward", and Hawthorne was "oozing with NBA potential." My favorite was regarding all the talk of Chandler's NBA potential.

I'm sure by August, Wilkins and Diallo will be the "sleeper backcourt of the SEC."

We're loaded with talent.

Oozing with it, really.

And then the real games will happen, and we'll get Popey the Sailor Man biting his lip and staring at the scoreboard with that squinty confused look on his face.

What is it you need help with? There is a chance that after playing on the west coast for two years he’s going to go back home to play if he stays in college. Happens with players all the time.

There’s also a chance he doesn’t want to play for UK and Pope.

Also a chance he’s using Duke like Wright did UK.

Not predicting any of those things. Just saying things aren’t black and white. The easiest thing for me to believe however, is that if he’s going to play another year in college, he wants to do it close to home.

I'm not advocating for Calipari, but if Calipari were here, both would be playing for Kentucky without a doubt.

Also, Wade coached his brother. That means more than just being from the state too.

Did you miss the "but if Calipari was here" part? I know you're not very smart, but surely you saw that.
Yeah, Woodrow, I am not very smart. All of the top recruits follow Cal from UK to Arkansas and Cal is still landing them, but Cal “at UK” is your brilliant distinction. Gotcha, weirdo.

"They look real good in practice". "Kam Williams and Noah are shooting the cover of the ball."

(Pope and his analytic geniuses still haven't figured out his ******, unmotivated players look good in practice because they play against other ******, unmotivated players).

Man, it rivals TDS around here. If you are someone who isn't happy with Pope but aren't ready to burn him at the stake, you are automatically deemed a Pope Slurper. Its ridiculous

TDS is a rival? Am I trying to figure out some Tennessee acronym? Tenn Does Suck maybe. Not seeing how it's a Louisville or Indiana mocking.
