I like the fact we are the first blue blood to offer Cayden Daughtry. I hope his discussions with Mo will make a big difference for him in his eventual decision.
After this historic Peach Jam run, he has really proven he was the best and most consistent player the whole year in EYBL. He's "undersized" but plays with the best hustle and energy, intelligence, and he makes everyone around him better. It's like he plays with a consistent chip on his shoulder - in a very good way.
I would love to see us have some Daughtry to add to the mix.
Eventually, Pope really needs to start landing the best of the best. Hampton was a good start, but it isn't enough help and this year is a make or break for Pope here anyway, as far as I am concerned. I believe. somehow, he proves his critics and most of us that have been varying degrees of "critical" of him dead wrong.
This is one of those ways Pope needs to improve here for us at Kentucky. It always begins with recruiting and getting the best players with the best chemistry.
In my book, football recruiting needs to reel in multiple positional players where several make the difference in a title or coming up short. Basketball can be so heavily weighted getting the ONE RIGHT player, and buiding around him. Then things fall into place. Cayden could be a player exactly like that for us.
