To me there’s a real big difference between those that are ticked off about where we are and go back and forth with folks on Pope’s abilities or lack thereof and those that go into every thread and spew their nonsense like Jw and 1987.

Neither are UK fans. They may have been at one point but now they’re “I’d rather be right than UK be good” fans.
There is no back and forth on Pope's abilities. He's 53 years old and his best season is a S16. There is no debating his career. It is what it is but yet some like yourself will cry when people point it out, so weird.

I’ll type slow so you can follow along because you’re one of the dumbest posters on this site.

All my post are still out there. Go find your proof. What I do is call out morons that can’t have a single post that isn’t stupid.

"coaching staff watches player "(100 coaches did this) equals "program is making a move" equals "program is trending with player"

insiders fall for it every time...reading small tidbits of information, blowing it into something it isnt, then gets super pissed when it doesnt pan out. fan base loses its mind

Exactly. People like that guy and the other bleed blue guys. They make it sound like we are all in on every kid the coaches contact. Then fans freak out when it don’t happen. Most the times it’s just the customary phone call and basic recruitment nothing more.

Early signing period is Nov 11th - Nov 18th. If past years trends hold, multiple top 25 guys will have announced by then with a few of the higher rated 5 stars holding out till the spring. So I'd expect a slow trickle with a guy here or there with guys who know exactly where they want to go, with a small influx heading into early November. Agents of the top guys though will most likely hold their guys out till spring to see how the teams are performing that are recruiting them, who might stay, who might leave, if the coach is going to be fired, who else they are recruiting/signed, and how desperate teams are willing to get with NIL offers if they haven't landed key players yet. Summer is usually VERY slow in the NIL era.

There have been a few saying UK and him, so I think it’s reasonable that he visits, hopefully lol.
Bunch said uk and spears too. Even though spears was always going to Texas. His sister is there and he’s there every weekend he wasn’t playing basically.

Good summary. Thanks.

The Alston situation bears watching. There won’t be a player that we have better ins with in 2027 than him. Pope played with his dad multiple years in the NBA in Milwaukee, Mo played against Rafer for years so I’d be shocked if they didn’t have some sort of relationship, and McLean went to the same high school that Reese is going to.

Reese and a top 40 C prospect make a ton of sense to round out a 3 man recruiting class where you grab a PG, wing, and big then can see how the season unfolds for transfers out/NBA decisions.

Im just not sure if a top 10-15 prospect is coming when you have a very good college PG with 3 years of eligibility and lacking pro potential at the moment.

This is admittedly the time when High School Basketball rumors (specifically reclasses) are flying around, so you have to take everything with a grain of salt. That being said, lots of talk heating up lately that 2027 Kentucky commit Ryan Hampton may still be considering reclassing into 2026 and joining the Wildcats this upcoming season. I interviewed Ryan right after his commitment to Kentucky back on June 7th, and he reiterated he will stay in the 2027 class, but things do change quickly. Something to keep an eye on as Kentucky looks to fill #15.

I like the fact we are the first blue blood to offer Cayden Daughtry. I hope his discussions with Mo will make a big difference for him in his eventual decision.

After this historic Peach Jam run, he has really proven he was the best and most consistent player the whole year in EYBL. He's "undersized" but plays with the best hustle and energy, intelligence, and he makes everyone around him better. It's like he plays with a consistent chip on his shoulder - in a very good way.

I would love to see us have some Daughtry to add to the mix.

Eventually, Pope really needs to start landing the best of the best. Hampton was a good start, but it isn't enough help and this year is a make or break for Pope here anyway, as far as I am concerned. I believe. somehow, he proves his critics and most of us that have been varying degrees of "critical" of him dead wrong.

This is one of those ways Pope needs to improve here for us at Kentucky. It always begins with recruiting and getting the best players with the best chemistry.

In my book, football recruiting needs to reel in multiple positional players where several make the difference in a title or coming up short. Basketball can be so heavily weighted getting the ONE RIGHT player, and buiding around him. Then things fall into place. Cayden could be a player exactly like that for us.

Yea he’s late to the party. That’s been the rumor going on 2-3 weeks now with Hampton. If the spot is open he is an option to take it and develop.

Hampton would be a good bench project. If he saw his reclass as a two-year commitment and a way to prep for his soph season, it might be a good use of #15. I am not sure he would be a key cog to the success of the season, however. He also would have to deal with those fans who will define him as a college basketball player by his frosh season alone. In other words, come with a thick skin and a team first mentality. If you have a crazy uncle, keep him at home and silent.
