I see a lot about scores from the outside being talked about. My two cents is we need an enforcer/shot blocker/rebounder in the middle whether that is a big forward or center. We got beat on the boards way too much and it was too easy for people to get to the rack against us.

The game is changing, like it or not. Dribble drive, kick out or go to the rack. If you get the people who can drive and score the baby hook or floater, it opens up the spot up guys on the outside. Where is that person on this current team?

And had the commitments been reversed you would have said the same thing about Dix at Nebraska.

Dix will make a bigger impact at Creighton for one year than Sandfort will for 2 at Nebraska. Most scouts look at Dix as a plus defender, not quite the liability you make him out to be. He does play a bit high, but at the 3 in the Big East he will be fine.

Sandfort is a player that needs to spot up and hit his shot, he doesn’t create his own, so without a PG that will dish out assists, he won’t be as effective. If Nebraska gets a PG, then we can re-evaluate.
Yeah I think Dix is the better player, and most of the people analyzing the portal seemed to agree. But on the other hand, Fred really couldn't pass on Sandfort. He's a big improvement over any backcourt players on the roster right now.

Agree, better than what is on the roster. My comments were more directed at people who were acting as if Dix was this second rate player that "we didn't want anyway"

I like Jamarques but he's not a point guard to me, not a great passer, his Assist-to-TO ratio is too high.
Yeah I like Lawrence a lot, but to me he's more of a 2 guard who can fill in from time to time at the point.

Michigan is killing it in the portal. It shows how much they hated Howard and how much they love May.

Looks like we found our replacement for Andrew Morgan. Was hoping for more of an athletic rim protector inside. But he's a big body at least.

So are we getting a legit PG? How do we replace BW/JG?
I am just going to be honest... How about getting a black player for once. We literally have 3 white foreigner bigs wtf

Yes I know that does not equate to being good at basketball, but for real Hoiberg is starting to look one demensional

We will be getting at least 3-4 more transfers. I guarantee 2 ball handlers/shooters
You'd like to hope so, but I have seen nothing to convince me this is going to happen... don't even go the Lawrence route even though that probably is going to happen

Yeah, I heard Duke fans have had enough and they're demanding a black guy replace that whitey Flagg. I hear what you're saying, but I think we should be aware that white eastern european bigs have a pretty good track record? I also hope for more athleticism, but I watched some video on this guy. Big, great touch around the basket, can shoot the 3. Looks like a very nice piece to pair with Rienk.

Flagg is great... he isn't as good without Proctor and James

Apparently Gavins won’t be. Thought he would really help this year.
He appeared to have been a great pickup for us. He was a legitimate high school recruit who just wasn’t able to translate to the physical play of the B1G. He’s a guy that probably needs to transfer down to get on the floor. I won’t be surprised to see him do well in a less physical conference.

Hard to believe Griffiths was rated as a Top 50 recruit in the nation in high school by every major recruiting service. Most times he looked like he had never played competitive basketball in his life.

Really could have used him this year
Let's focus on the future, or something like that. Maybe he benefitted by playing somewhere else for a year? I'm a little curious about the fact that he never really fit as a PG when he was here.

Yeah I love Lawrence’s athleticism and think he can really help NU. But Huskers still need a PG who can break down a half-court defense and distribute the ball. That’s not really Lawrence’s game, nor anyone else’s on the current roster.

You can tell he has skills but didn’t shoot it well enough to play much for us. I can’t find his stats from high school. It’s possible that time in the weight room trying to get stronger negatively affected his shooting accuracy.

good thing we redshirted him
Do you really think they wouldn’t have played him if he was better than our other guards in practice? Maybe he should have played instead of Worster but I find it really hard to believe that Fred wouldn’t have played him if he could compete in practice.

I would hope Fred wouldn't do that, but the optics on redshirting Janowski are alot easier on Fred than having to explain a scenario where he brings in two 5th year senior guards then they ride the pine behind a true frosh. Now that we all know those seniors couldn't hit the broadside of a barn and the true frosh who was a big scorer in HS, didn't play and is now in the portal, I think its reasonable to question that Fred may have mishandled the situation.

Looks like we signed another wing shooter. Was hoping for a point guard or athletic power forward.
