All that shows is that USN&WR's lame ranking system still has influence as well as Frankln's propaganda he used from day one, claiming NJ and MD were his territory.

Entities would not use propaganda if it did not work on many people. SB ate it up with a spoon and is now regurgitating it. So what? He has to say *something* and that story from Franklin worked on him.. so he just answers honestly... according to his own beliefs.

Its Rutgers job to spread pro-Rutgers propaganda better.

I don’t know...but cording to some, he should be lauded for being a leader and staying home to play for his state school that had been struggling rather then go out of state to a school who year two years before, won a share of their BCS conference title and who had a very successful first year in the B1G

I'm telling ya Skillet I just don't like the pick. It's just too high for a RB. I said the same about Apple and Mama Lavar. psu running backs for some strange reason rarely pan out. If he does he'll be breaking a trend.

As to the academics aspect, like @madchuck said he damn well knows his decision had nothing at all to do with academics. He's just spinning some real bullsh*t here.
I understand that some folks think RBs are dime a dozen, but I don't subscribe to that. The differential between the top ten and the bottom ten starting RBs last year was proportionally greater than for the top ten and bottom ten QBs. The only thing I don't like about it is that they could have gotten Sam Darnold, and Eli ain't gonna last forever. If the Jints go .500 or better this year, they won't have a shot at a premier QB. Could be the same next year. This was the year to get a QB.

Having said that, I think Saquon is going to give us lots to cheer about.

Hate the Giants and hope he"s a bust.
I can respect that position. If you hate the Giants, you do want him to be a bust.
Giants fans? Not sure what your point was there, but nice balloon.

Barkley seems like a good, well-spoken kid, and didn't really say anything offensive. Carlin must realize that nobody listening to the FAN gives two ***** that he committed to Rutgers as a Junior in high school. Hoping a PSU grad on your PRO team fails, which will hurt the team overall, is next level pettiness.

Yep... some want it both ways.

Is he actually getting his degree? And by the way some would say PSU resides in the "Kentucky" of the north --great school but has it's faults to say the least--lack of diversity, tends to screw its own residents in applications to state college, recent frat house death---the ped stu
ff is only one on the list

You guys realize that for athletes the academics is not about the school rankings or acceptance rates or the stuff is normal people look at when evaluating schools.

It’s mostly about academic support, graduation rates for athletes, and alumni networks.

Looking at it through the shoes of an athlete you’ll find that PSU is far ahead of RU in this respect.

This.

There's also a good chance that Barkley was referring to the power of a vast alumni network, and one that is often eager to help new graduates at the start of and throughout their career, and not exactly the curriculum at each school.

Barkley was featured on the ESPN show "Hey, Rookie.." leading up the draft. In one of the episodes he discusses taking classes during his rookie season to complete his degree. Ultimately I'm not sure that happens given the demands of adjusting to the NFL, but he seems committed to finishing.

Wow. I had alot of respect for him up till now. He's an a-hole or just stupid. PSU is slightly better academically than RU, but Maryland is easily better than PSU. If he was considering life after football if he didn't make it to the NFL all three schools would have helped him. This is a terrible thing for him to say.

Who are the other RBs on the Giants roster. I will root for them.

Come on guys, I am hoping you guys start.

Giant fan who hopes Barkley is the new Jimmy Brown. He's a fine young man and I hope he excels for the Jints. Lord knows we need it.
We don't need him. Stupid pick by my Giants. Should have went for a QB or a lineman. He's not Walter Payton or Ray Rice.

How many PSU grads are senior leaders in Fortune 500 companies vs. RU grads?
I doubt PSU degrees is wowing them so much

personally , I think their qb and that particular offense helped his run game immensely, he gained a lot number of yards lining up next to the qb taking the snap

There's a better chance he had no idea what he was referring to. He was simply regurgitating whatever Franklin had jammed into his head.

Maybe. From following his career I can tell you that Barkley seems like a pretty thoughtful and calculated guy for his age. Either way, I think the comment isn't a big deal, especially in the context of where it was said: in a lighthearted interview with an RU supporter.

The thing that convinces me that Barkley was mouthing Franklin's words was the gratuitous shot at Maryland, who as far as we know was never a factor in his recruitment.

Also Barkley's reference to his "educated decision". As opposed to his prior decision to commit to RU? I suspect that that
particular phrase came directly from the educator.

Anyway, I agree that ultimately the comments are no big deal.

This is more about Penis Head selling him a used car.

PSU degree is a fine degree but it is NOT in anyway better than a Rutgers degree. It is not worse per say, but it is not better!

If anything, for some majors, a Rutgers degree can be considered more valuable.

Well, that answers that question. I knew Miami was a good academic school even with the thug image in sports. But, I didn't know they were this good.

???
Miami of Ohio is not the same school as the cheaters in Coral Gables, FL.

Miami RedHawks are not thugs! They play in the MAC. It is a very good school and is considered a "public ivy".

Rutgers was recently ranked #10 on a list of the top 13 business schools that awarded at least 10 college and graduate degrees to America’s leading executives by U.S. News & World Report. Rutgers was in good company: Harvard University topped the list, followed by Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University.

Rutgers awarded 11 degrees and tied for 10th with Indiana University and Northwestern University. Columbia was the only other New York metro area school on the list.

Typical Penn State alum response. Every single one of them believes they have a Harvard degree.
So do we!!! Stanford Michigan BAH we are better academically and athletically. Don’t believe me it was on this site.

Uh-oh, it looks like RU31trap may be back, and the new mods here probably don't know about this cultest.
Not trap31, that disgusting ped state fan who hates homosexuals yet condones pedophilia coverup and fraternity death when it happens at ped state? Say it ain't so
