I waited on Derek Anderson YEARS ago when he had just signed with the Cleveland Cavs. I didn't let on I was a fan and gave him professional service. I wrote on his tab, "Congratulations!! Go Big Blue!"

Before he left he asked me if I knew who he was. Of course I did and told him I hadn't missed a UK game in years. Ironically I had a white 1996 NCAA Championship t-shirt on under my work shirt. I showed it to him. He gave me a hug and left.

Went to the table and he left me a $100 bill. He signed his name and wrote, "Thanks Cindy. Go Big Blue." I put it in a frame and was able to keep it for a few years. Derek Anderson will forever be one of my favorite Wildcats. Not because of the money... because he was just a great guy.
So were you working at hooters ?

Many yrs ago my wife worked as a waitress at Executive West Hotel. William Shatner would stay there during the horse show. He would have 6-10 people in his party and would leave a $5 tip every time. My wife said he was a butt wipe and acted like it should be a privileged to serve him. People like him are the reason we tip well.
I know several people that have been in social settings with Shatner and all say he is a doucebag.

If it brings you any solace, Shatner has been living with tinnitus for many, many years. I had mild and temporary tinnitus and if it was permanent, I may have gone crazy. It's horrible. So maybe that's his punishment for being a lousy tipper.
Probably from not wearing hearing protection while on his spaceship. Could also be the barometric pressure on some of the planets he visited.

The NCAA would be real careful to try and punish a big program like Kentucky for a $100 meal. If I was Mitch and Sandy I'd almost dare them. NCAA is teetering over a cliff right now..

That's what I was thinking. Even Cal, they already hate him. If they really try to come at us or bully, we need to not just stand up, but go at them. They are holding on by a thread. Should just topple them over and there horrible views.

Shoot. I’ve been doing like 18-20%.

That’s not the standard tip amount? Lol
To the best of my knowledge the Feds take out 15% of the gross that each server has. I usually give between 20-25% and
more when I have a large group.

Not going to click on the article but for those who did

Did the article explain how Bam got his nickname? Always wondered about that.

This is the story I heard. Bam's mom always played the Flintstones for Bam to watch, when he was a toddler. When, at an early age, he turned over an end table, they called him Bam Bam.

Because this whole Bam meal story is Fake News.

When I had an expense account I would sometimes beef it up a little. If it wasn't up to a certain level they would start talking about cutting the limits back....Doesn't mean I actually spent money on a meal or what every......

This is worth a story? This is worth a sensationalistic headline?

Really? REALLY?

:boxing:
Agreed Bluebomb. If it's about a player from ANY other program, this piece never gets written.
Although, actually, I'm kind of glad they wrote it. The fact that it's so completely insignificant tells the whole story. If this is the worst thing to be found in the FBI reporting about Adebayo, we're completely in the clear. This is not even enough to trigger the "over $200 must be paid back" clause. This story is a joke.

And no, it can't and won't be tied to UK because it happened before he signed with UK, and Adebayo severed ties with this "family friend" before he came to UK and also never signed with ASM. This is the very definition of "a tempest in a teapot."

$100 meal less than $100,000 Bowen. At least Bam got to digest his meal, Bowen got a trip to South Carolina I guess that's something.
