I think now the NCAA would not vacate wins unless a coach knew about it....Secondly this is an FBI probe and supposedly sealed documents....I think too much is being made out of this.
Not sealed, open discovery is what i heard.

Read my above posts there hoss before getting all fired up.Do YOU have any information that states WHEN Bam took the money?
See, it's very likely that Bam took the money after he left UK.
Yet you want UK to throw themselves under the truck without knowing all the facts.
Edit: MJ is saying the date on Bam's payment indicates he was in high school.
But the thing that I go to is why is UK in the crosshairs? He didn't pay Knox to go to UK.

Right, which makes me wonder what else they have and how much longer they will dribble out these reports, releasing it little by little. As I've said, the shoe money is the big whale here.Agreed. This was a nuclear strike to cause the most damage and distraction right before the NCAA tournament. They have sat on this until this moment.
Bingo. See we're not so far off. I hate the internet because everyone goes immediately to nuclear response mode too instead of chilling the hell out and having a discussion. We're on the same side. No, I don't think UK is culpable of any wrong doing. Louisville steered money, UNC steered atheletes. Yes, I get that and how it is inherently different from this. But several posters immediately jumped my *** specifically because I said that UK should own up to whatever responsbility it may have and face this head on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that statement, and it also leaves open the fact that if they have no responsibility that we do nothing. That statement apparently translates to me saying "UK and Cal are paying players and our university is run by a bunch of greaseballs lullz Go Card Tar Heels" or some such, which when people put their thinking caps on instead of just reacting is quite clearly NOT what I said.Agreed. I'm going to need more proof that Bam took money than a paper in some dirty agent's office. "Show me the money". Show me proof that money was provided.

It's why I stick to the football board 99% of the time. Actual discussion to read instead of the 20 year old fans still at UK and folks from the hollers shouting at anyone with a challenging opinion. That being said, my posts aren't exactly pure gold either [laughing]In our defense, some of us are not very bright.
If Bam took the money in HS I do not think anything bad will come from that as long as he had not signed his Financial papers or LOI at the time he received the money. NN is another story, but, even in his case we would only have to forfeit the games we won prior to his injury.
I would argue we need to drink a beer regardless. [cheers]Some of y'all need to drink a beer and just ride this **** out.
Read my post under yours I just posted. We're not in disagreement. From where I'm sitting your posts read like "hahaha this guy (me) is an idiot for thinking anything will come of this. We're good."
I’m not burying my head in the sand. Let’s assume Bam took the money- it was for him to go to NC State and sign with that agent. UK is not tied to it whatsoever. Now does that mean the wins will be vacated for last year? Maybe. But if UNC and duke are caught up in it too, I predict it won’t happen. If it does happen, vacated the wins from last year would suck but it isn’t a catastrophe. Why? Because our coaching staff wasn’t involved.
I agree what is alleged is a violation. If it happened we should accept the consequences. I'm just saying there should be more proof that Bam took money before we put the rope around our necks. Show me bank transactions, deposit slips, something besides a spreadsheet in the agent's office.Don't be that guy. I personally don't think there is anything morally or ethically wrong with a poor kid getting a loan for future earnings, but it is a violation and we shouldn't be those fans who try to get around that.
You've hit the nail on the head. I don't fault anyone for pointing out all of the inconsistent B.S. the NCAA has perpetuated. And in this case, I think it seems pretty clear that Miller is in no way associated with UK. He and Cal are not buddy-buddy (understatement.) I'm just concerned that regardless vacating is still on the table, even if the money was clearly intended to steer Bam to NC State. No one ever accused the NCAA of using common sense. Here's my thing. Cliff Alexander played 28 games for Kansas 3 years ago. Everyone knows his family took loans. Where are the vacated games?
Lance Thomas took a 70K loan from a jewelry store during Duke's 2010 Title season. Not to mention his suspicious access to 30k in cash. Everyone knows this. Where are those vacated games?
You keep talking about Camby. OK, fair enough. But recency and how other bluebloods have been (not) dealt with tells me we shouldn't have to be worried about this. At least not to a Marcus Camby, toss out all the wins level.
True story, I worked for a small health care service back in the early 2000's..one day in 2002 the FBI shows up at the office with a warrant citing healthcare fraud..the picture on the front of the warrant was dated 9-04-2001..let that sink in for a second..the owner of the business asked the agents "what were you people doing watching my company when there were 19 maniacs preparing the worst attack in American history only a week later?" They laughed in his face..Turns out the supposed fraud was fabricated by a disgruntled former employee..he hired a lawyer, case dismissed..In no way am I making light of that massive screw up in Florida . I stand by the rest of my statement.
Wow, and the entire thred breaks down into name calling. It's amazing how primitive we can be. If people says things you don't like then just call them names. That will teach them how intellegent you are. No need to be civil and debate anything. Intelligent conversation requires more than my side of things is the only side of things. Most humans never get that. We are so anxious to validate our own point of view that other people opinions don't matter. Thick skin indeed. Gather up the troll possy somebody hurt my feeling. I can only imagine how many cats fans get tired of this and move on to the better things in life. Perhaps it's time we all re-examined our priorities in life. The temptation is to be smug, but I see no joy in any of this. Just wanted to talk cats and see where we all might find common ground. It is true my house is divided, by I am, and always have been a die hard cat fan. Sure you can respond with more name calling or just maybe you could join me in a more reasonable intellegent conversation.
Look guy, if you are a UK fan, stop being a ***** and move on. Today isnt the best to try and preach to people on this board.
If you are a troll, you will be exposed sooner or later.
Because he had already committed to the school and the SAT score made him eligible. Totally different than taking money in HS before any oral or written contract was agreed upon. I am not saying we will skate I am saying it is a possibility since he was in HS and it was prior to any commitment being made. How can Memphis lose a season for something that was never even proven regarding SAT scores but they won’t rule a player ineligible for taking money.
The entire reason I ended up on the board was due to the closure of ukbasketballlive. I came here only to see if he was going to need donations to help with legal fees. Check my post history. At times it nice to talk to like minded people about common intrist so I stayed. I can see that can be had here amoung some tight clicks. So thanks for the advice though it would have went over better without the added insult. Have a better day.

May be wrong but my understanding is that the money for BAM if any was for him to join Dennis Smith at NCStateHas this article been discussed?
https://www.yahoo.com/sports/exclus...g-high-profile-players-schools-103338484.html
It mentions us by name.
And says that Bam received lots of cash.
And Wendall Carter, among others.
You realize players from all those top 5 teams were listed right?![]()
Looks like someone has already edited the Most Wins. Is this in trouble?
It will be interesting to see how many current players on this list will play this weekend. If these documents pan out I look for Kentucky to have to forfeit all the games that BAM and Noel played. This is truly depressing. Knox may have to repay meals, but he may be shut down in the short term. At this point in the season Knox may be done here. Hope the BAM and Noel payments happened after the season is our only hope.. ..
Rose had not committed to Memphis at the time he took the test. I'm not sure if that's what you meant.
He was, of course, playing for Memphis at the time the score was ruled invalid.

With Knox was is just one meal? lol
Given the amount of crap that's come out and about to come out..........I'm surprised that Knox is even mentioned lol
I just assumed he had verbally committed to Memphis but the penalty was assessed as a result of the invalid test score. My main point was that the Rose and Bam situations were totally different based on the timing of the infractions.Rose had not committed to Memphis at the time he took the test. I'm not sure if that's what you meant.

On the bright side, if we have to forfeit Nerlen' s wins it won't be a huge loss.
