I'm an optimist. I keep expecting the percentage of people making sense to rise.

It's like the old joke about the kid who gets a pile of horse turds as a Christmas present and starts digging: "There's a pony in here somewhere."
Oh my.

You just perfectly described all the UK fans who keep looking for something good to come from this pile of horse turds that is our basketball program right now.

THERE. IS. NO. PONY.

Really don’t get that. I have a feeling he will wear UK blue before his career is over.

Probably why I watched every minute of a 9-16 season

You’re a bolder man than me, sir.

After Alabama killed us at Rupp I would watch the games until they made me mad and turn them off. By the end of the season, I’d just DVR them and check the score. I’d go back and watch the (rare) wins and delete the losses. Better for my blood pressure.

I hadn't missed a UK basketball game since 1975 FF. That is until this season.. after UL loss in December, I did not watch UK again. Its painful, and I don't have much hope in next season.

sounds Like it’s football related.
Why would someone "hear" major bad news then only report it was coming but not be able to say the sport or even in general what the news was about?

These guys make a bunch of generic crystal ball readings then try to fit actual events into them or rationalize why it didn't happen.

It's known as horseshit, in other words.

You're talking about guys who at no point until this season had NBA aspirations and most of those guys still don't. Cal told Askew he believed he was a 2 year player and he was brought in to be that. Askew dipped becasue those west coast guys can't handle being in kentucky. Were they not good enough? No they would be great here too but they want to go back home. The situation is completely different.
You think these guys didn't have NBA aspirations??? This is a joke right?
All those dudes were 5* recruits, you're out of your mind if you think they didn't come here to go pro.
Askew was originally the 10th ranked player in his class, he came here to get the edge he needed to get to the nba. And why the hell would a coach tell a player he was only going to be at UK 2 years? Oh I know why. It’s because he’s using UK to get these players to the next level and he knows these kids become less valuable the older they get. This is inexcusable and if it continues, Cal needs to go.
You would have a point if it didn't happen every year, or if Cal didn’t pump nba sunshine up their asses from stem to stern.
The fact that you think none of these guys had nba aspirations tells me you’re a Cal fan that will go to any lengths to defend him.
Wow.

Okay, so Baylor can hang on to Macio Teague, Jared Butler, Davion Mitchell, Mark Vital, Flo Thamba, Matthew Mayer and Flagler, but we can't hang on to Mintz, EJ, Hagans, Richards, Dialo, Quickly, Askew, Whitney or Teague? Don’t you see something wrong?

So, Iowa can bring back Luka Garza for his senior year, but we can't hang on to players like EJ and Hagans for more than 2 years?

So, Villanova can hang on to Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Divincenzo, Paschall, Mikal Bridges and Kris Jenkins, for 4 years, but we can only muster 4 total 3 year players in 12 years???

I mean, there's a problem, right? Seems like it to me.
You named 2 dudes who were ranked in the 20s the majority of those other dudes were very low 4 stars if they were ranked at all. Mintz is a senior and normally wouldn’t be back anyways so exclude him. The rest of our guys are top 10-15 players who want nothing to do with coming to school anyways. If you don’t want to recruit elite high school players then just say it. Otherwise there’s no point in complaining. Those guy will not stay because they do not care enough about any college to stay.

Says the dude that consistently whines and cries about people "whining and crying".
One thing is for sure. Both of you are annoying as a mf. It’s okay to criticize cal. It’s also okay to say some of you are out of your minds when you talk about needing to fire him.

So their high school rankings matter more than what they accomplished in college?
Keep in mind, most of the guys I mentioned from UK stayed here 2 years, did little to nothing and left even though they were told they would not get drafted.
That tells you they had 1 foot out the door before they got here.
Sorry man, this is not UK basketball, this is a joke. You're literally making excuses for all the facts that are proving that Cal has turned this into an nba farm system.

See, I can't get on board with this. This is the kind of stuff we read year after year when guys leave.

"We don't need Keldon Johnson back, we have Khahlil Whitney coming in!"

"Let Whitney go! Terrence Clarke is coming baby. Top 5 pick!"

That #3 is what I'm talking about. There is no way, as a freshman, Hopkins is going to come in more ready to contribute than a junior Brooks would. There's just no way.

Every year we spin all these guys leaving into "it's not a loss, we have better stuff coming in." We need continuity period. Guys leaving that would give us continuity IS bad news. Always has been.
Glad you called MD out for his constant spin. In his view, there hasn't been any bad news since we were on probation.

I’m only responding to your first sentence I don’t feel like doing this over and over again. It’s ridiculous to think the best way to win is to recruit mid major caliber bums so they’ll stay 4 years so Jeff on cats illustrated can remember their names and feel warm and fuzzy inside. Duke and Kentucky are the only true OAD programs and they’ve won 3/10 national championships. The other 320+ programs have won 7/10. I’d say we are fine. Do the math.

Awesome post Ryan. I totally agree. Jeff and KYFANINNC are acting like little school kids that if they don't get their way and Cal is not fired they will take their ball and go home. Well they can just take their ball and go home because Cal is going nowhere and all their crying and moaning will accomplish nothing. I believe they are just miserable people and nothing will please them.

Take a look at who "liked" your post, that should tell you all you need to know.

I see you listened to Matt Jones today. He's trying to convince everyone that one-and-done teams have won 3 out of the last 10 titles, but that's ********.

UK 2012 doesn't win if there is no lockout and doesn't win if Darius Miller wasn’t the huge contributer he was. That team had the #1 and #2 draft picks, one of which, was a generational player, so that is something that will never happen again.

Duke 2010 had 3 key seniors (Jon Sheyer, Zoubek and Lance Thomas) and they also had 2 juniors (Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith), PLUS, they had sophomore Miles Plumlee. They had ONE key freshman, Mason Plumlee. That was not a one and done team. Stop listening to Matt Jones.

2015 Duke had senior Quinn Cook, Senior Sean Kelly, Junior Marshall Plumlee, Junior Rasheed Sulaimon, Junior Amile Jefferson and Sophomore Matt Jones. They had 2 key freshmen in Tre Jones and Okafor, again, not a one-and-done team.

I'll give you 2012 UK, but again, without the lockout and Darius, it doesn't happen.

Alright, I have been gone all day after seeing this ominous news. Just got back from the doctors. Just had a lady ultrasound my balls, how much worse can it get? The good news is she said my balls looked good, just big and they might have to drain the right one. What was the horrible UK news dump? Catch me up.
Gavin Wimsatt in football picked Rutgers.

Also that one kid that got drafted by Miami was a freshmen. Winslow maybe? Something like that? He played small ball 4 for them.

edit: 3 freshmen starters, I would consider a 1&D team.

An old bag chick. I guess that was for the best. Barely moved when she flopped it over. It didn't help I had my pants around my ankles (Would have thought I would have worn a robe) I am straight whinny pooing it than cold gel all over my nuts and she has Christian rock playing in the background while she talks to me about the weather and covid while pressing my balls into my leg as hard as she could.

That's it? Or is more supposed to becoming? I mean it's almost 730pm, but they did say news dump. I figured it was Brooks to IU, Mintz overseas, Baldwin picking Dook, Carr staying in the draft, and Brandin from WIS going elsewhere.

If that is it then not much of a dump.
