With OKSTATE literally firing Cade's brother today.. why are we not hiring Hardy's relative. **** it. Just pick one of his cousins and say "Here's $200k for a special position, and give all of it to Hardy".
I don't even care if we pay Hardy out right. I'm willing to take the chance. Let the NCAA come after us. We'll get our punishment in 2032 when college basketball doesn't even exist anymore lol.
sounds Like it’s football related.5 pages in and no big Friday news drop yet. They better hurry I'm losing interest...
Okay, so Baylor can hang on to Macio Teague, Jared Butler, Davion Mitchell, Mark Vital, Flo Thamba, Matthew Mayer and Flagler, but we can't hang on to Mintz, EJ, Hagans, Richards, Dialo, Quickly, Askew, Whitney or Teague? Don’t you see something wrong? He can finish his education regardless.
Players first.Who needs juniors anyway. We are just fine with one year and occasionally two year guys....
So you heard it was football?Recruit or transfer going Elsewhere
Nah foosball is the devil. So you heard it was football?
At least you admit a search for your tail is continuous.I've been getting lubed up for bad news for about the past 12 months now. I'm ready.
That’s all you got? Smh. Tell us how good the league was last year. That’s all ya got? Smh
Cal’s roster turnover is just mind boggling. Even before transfer leniency, he lost building blocks for subsequent years.
No matter who he brings in to replace the ones leaving, he isn’t building anything, not improving the culture, and not assuring better success down the road. It’s an all in, put your chips in the middle of the table and roll the dice and HOPE it pays off approach. Hope-that’s our new strategy!!
It’s incredibly disappointing to know he’s the guy in charge of the program and there’s no end in sight with the contract he was given.
Because he is selling them on several aspects including the tradition of Indiana and player development. I don't know if Woodson will work out but he is doing a lot of things right coming out of the gate. Woodson is doing this while making the University's best interest a priority as well as the kids.Hell Mike effin' Woodson just convinced an NBA talent to return, and about 4-5 players to exit the transfer portal to return to IU.
my comments are focused more on the culture around our program, not a specific player or season.I think this was true up until this offseason. With over 1200 guys now in the portal (3.4 guys PER TEAM) this whole sport is a circus now.
Not speaking of this year-Cal hasn’t retained holdovers from one year to the next since he got here for the most part. Someone posted information the other day in another thread and the average # of years players stay was less than 1.5 for all signees. We won’t win this way and we’ll never stabilize the program for longer term success. It's every school in college basketball right now...not just UK.
And much of it is totally outside of Cal's control. It's just the current climate of college basketball. If NCAA continues this transfer rule recruiting never stops...even in college. Brooks was recruited & sold to return to IU. Cal is not running him off.
So, if you want to lay blame, blame NCAA & NBA.
You're talking about guys who at no point until this season had NBA aspirations and most of those guys still don't. Cal told Askew he believed he was a 2 year player and he was brought in to be that. Askew dipped becasue those west coast guys can't handle being in kentucky. Were they not good enough? No they would be great here too but they want to go back home. The situation is completely different.Okay, so Baylor can hang on to Macio Teague, Jared Butler, Davion Mitchell, Mark Vital, Flo Thamba, Matthew Mayer and Flagler, but we can't hang on to Mintz, EJ, Hagans, Richards, Dialo, Quickly, Askew, Whitney or Teague? Don’t you see something wrong?
So, Iowa can bring back Luka Garza for his senior year, but we can't hang on to players like EJ and Hagans for more than 2 years?
So, Villanova can hang on to Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, Divincenzo, Paschall, Mikal Bridges and Kris Jenkins, for 4 years, but we can only muster 4 total 3 year players in 12 years???
I mean, there's a problem, right? Seems like it to me.
And yet you read them. LOL!I've finally figured out the bad news -- It's reading five pages of comments from the biggest collection of whiners, crybabies and negative nancies in American fandom. It feels like a bath in corrosive acid without any actual event happening.
1.4 years is average. The scarier one for me is that you are almost 3 times as likely to transfer after 1 or 2 years than to stay 4. 11 times more likely to transfer than stay 4 if you exclude the instate kids that grew up dreaming of playing for UK.Not speaking of this year-Cal hasn’t retained holdovers from one year to the next since he got here for the most part. I'm an optimist. I keep expecting the percentage of people making sense to rise. And yet you read them. LOL!
That would be a good idea though, even if that relitave didn't even know what a basketball was. Can't do that.
All our cash tied up in Cal's salary.
Nah nothing yet. Think it’s football news...
Yes, spot on. Good work on the data by the way. If we are getting 2 to 3 of the top 5 kids, the roster turnover would be less of an issue.1.4 years is average. Over 11 times more likely to transfer than stay 4 if you exclude the instate kids that grew up dreaming of playing for UK.
TJ came here to talk about Connor from Possum Trot so maybe he can come back and tell us what he was talking about.
He was a national top 100 recruit, no 1 in KY. Yes we were wanting better news.No way was TJ Walker urging our fanbase to “remain calm” over a football recruit? LOL, good grief
^^ that was the bad news today folks
and yet here you are, still postingI've finally figured out the bad news -- It's reading five pages of comments from the biggest collection of whiners, crybabies and negative nancies in American fandom. It feels like a bath in corrosive acid without any actual event happening.
Disappointing...but the “stay calm” advice was over the top based on the situation. He was a national top 100 recruit, no 1 in KY. Yes we were wanting better news.
You’re preaching to the choir here, huge UK football fan. But realistically this isn’t the type of thing the UK fan base is going to lose their minds over.He was a national top 100 recruit, no 1 in KY. Yes we were wanting better news.
And yet you read them. LOL!
Probably why I watched every minute of a 9-16 seasonTrain wrecks are hard to look away from.
