They say (whoever "they" are) that up to 10,000 baby boomers retire each day in America. Seeing how this board is so slow and there is nothing to read about, I figured I'd ask:

1) Are you a baby boomer, and if yes, have you lived/are you living a good life?

2) Do you appreciate the work that the boomer generation has put in?

I'll answer first. My Dad was a Vietnam vet and I believe his generation absolutely contributed to a better society. I appreciate their passing of the proverbial baton.

And somehow the national debt is the fault of baby boomers? Please explain how. I’ve been working full time and paying taxes since 1982. This is totally the fault of a bunch of drunken sailors in Congress.

But besides that, my life is pretty good. Still have another five or six years to work but have been traveling the world and going to tons and tons of college and pro sporting events. Doing more now than I ever dreamed would be possible when I was a little kid in small town central Nebraska.

Yes, I am a boomer.

My generation is a mixture of good and bad. Just like all generations. When I was young and living through the 60’s, I thought my generation was “different” and somehow immune from the human condition. We weren’t. And neither is today’s generation.

People are people. Some good. Some evil. Some average. And everyone is ****** up.

Love it. Boomers suck. They also gave rise to us. We also suck. So, everyone sucks. Yay we all suck!

I'm not a boomer, but my dad of course is.

I think they are one of the luckiest generations. They didn't need a degree, and made great money doing even low level blue collar work.

Those kinds of high paying jobs are almost completely gone.

Then again, I remember my grandfather was able to afford a 2400sf super nice brick home, all on his job selling appliances at Sears.

Both generations had pensions too.

Things have changed quite dramatically with globalization over the years.

Yeah lucky we fought a war no one wanted and came home not to parades but to scorn.

Blue collar jobs are gone because of politicians allowing and companies migrating where workers are exploited. Niw we have a shortage of electricians and plumbers because kids went to college and racked up thousands on student loans and now think these jobs are beneath them.

We raised kids and gave them a better life than we had growing up now it's their responsibility to do the same. Can they I hope so but I have doubts

Next you'll be after those lowlife farmers, with a mouthful of food, or going out to eat in your low life built car, or coming home to your low life house you didnt build.
Go find a cave, youll be top dog there.

Greatest generation was the parents of the boomers. Hands down, no question. They made this country great, and a good chunk of the world also

You have that fight my friend...

They went to work on their bare knuckles and never once asked for a hand out and if they did get a hand out it was much deserved on like today’s society...
