Yes. But take that with the grain of salt that I'd have thought Miller was going to be an OLB based on what he did as a 4-3 rush end on scout team...but they're being recruited as ILBs.
Young is gone after this year with Honas and Mo gone the next. ILBs are needed and I would think there's a good chance they'll take another in this class, maybe a JUCO.

How do departures at this point in the (pre) season impact scholarship limits? In other words, can the scholarships for Barnett, Roberts, and Jackson be used to reward a senior walk-on or are they aren't spent?

Unfortunately, no. Those scholarships won't be available this fall since they already began fall camp.

All 3 LB commits are projected to ILB.

Maybe it is a sign of the times. While I appreciate the preliminary appearance that players leaving is a sign of competition and that the highest levels of achievement are being demanded, there is that sinking concern that it would be a better sign if the staff was getting the best out of players rather than creating a revolving door. He certainly had potential, huge potential it appeared. While not all players pan out, this departure feels like a loss. Time will tell if Roberts pans out somewhere else and was a loss or if the apparent lack of performance was indicative of a bigger problem with him.

FYI, anyone who started fall camp and leaves, their scholly still counts towards the 85 until December. So, Barnett and Roberts scollys don't open up a spot for a walk on this fall.

Whether or not he ultimately pulls his head from his rectal cavity and does something FB related, he wasn't doing it at NU and just chose to hit the trail. Was behind a walk on and guy who moved positions. He could have stayed and redoubled his efforts, but didn't want to. It's a free country. So it's not a loss and frees up a spot for another kid to sign in the 2019 class.
