Which one? I have seen so many rumor threads I cant keep up. Last flavor of the week was Leopold
Yeah, that was the last one I saw too on Reddit. Others in the media claim it is done, but none of them mention anything. I'm starting to be more annoyed by this the longer it drags on./

Based on recruiting and talent alone. If you're Lane Kiffin or Matt Rhule or Urban Meyer, where would you go? Nebraska or Auburn?

Please answer objectively.
Nebraska. I don’t think Auburn is as good of a job as people think. They are second fiddle to Alabama in their state and can’t out recruit LSU Georgia or Florida. They have a rabid fan base who thinks they should be equal to Bama.

not sure what impact that has on N, if any?

🇺🇸

@BarrettSallee
Auburn has fired coach Bryan Harsin

My guess is that they take a chance on Dion which will have little impact on our pool of candidates.

Nebraska would have given him an extension with that record. At least they are not settling for mediocrity

Mickey Joseph AND VINCE GUINTA should INSTANTLY be contacting a couple of their recruits at positions of need and get them here for an official visit. I know there's a couple I've spoken to that would like to visit
In particular Terrance Love...goes to same school (langston-hughes) as Bo Hughley and Barry Jackson....and Clay Wedin. Its time for Neb. to capitalize here. Vince, get on the dial!

Would probably be easier to pull off if we actually had a coach ourselves.

Ruhle didn’t even kill it at Baylor. Heupel is having a hell of a year. Let’s see what he does in the long term.
You actually might be right about Auburn. I've been reading up on the program a little bit on various message boards and on Reddit, and the consensus from fans nationally, even in the SEC, is that Nebraska is a much better job than Auburn because there is apparently a pretty toxic booster culture down there where they interfere all the time with the coaches, and they, along with their fans, have unrealistic expectations.

Success is based on beating Nick Saban and Kirby Smart every year. Which is absurd.

I am guilty of feeling the same way. I've gotten sour in last few days.

Because thats the world nebraska lives in today. nebraska is no longer a coveted job. its baically been a basement dweller in the west, a career killer for coaches, and is out of tune with reality. nebraska will make its pick after wisonsin, auburn, & asu make theirs.
There is no chance you have had sex before.

I think they would go after a winner in the SEC like Kiffin. Or maybe a wildcard high ceiling splash hire like Prime Time.
Why would Kiffin leave Ole Miss for Auburn? Does Auburn have better facilities and resources than what he has in Oxford?

The Auburn job will be a better one when Saban retires but until then, seems like a tough gig all things considered...but history has also shown us that program is run by some pretty strange boosters so IDK...if I'm a sought after coach with options I really gotta think about that one.

If they were smart they’d hire coach Prime. Hell the Duck on the commercials would faint if Prime and Saban were at rival schools. Prime will win wherever he goes, and those that don’t think he would don’t understand the modern game.

It's very much a lateral move. But Kiffin seems unhappy at Ole Miss and they only have him on a 4-year contract, so Auburn may be able to give him the big payday that would push him over the edge to make the jump.

Here are a couple of random OSU and Iowa fans that agree with us.

I'm hoping WE go that route and get him!

How about same deal at NU? Heck, maybe even 1 mil more a year 😎
I would be thrilled to have him.

A lot of Husker fans would not be able to handle him as a coach though, because he tweets out funny stuff and he likes banging and he likes to have fun.

Urban Meyer would certainly go to Auburn over Nebraska. Urban knows the SEC and if he knows that he would be able to bring in the staff that he wants, he'll figure on being able to bring in a top 10 recruiting class every year and supplement that with transfers who want to play SEC ball.

Texas A&M will have an opening soon as well
not for at least 2 years. He will make staff changes this off season and will probably be forced to bring in an OC that will call plays. Those changes may actually work out, because they have plenty of talent.

Fisher's offense is antiquated and relies on slow developing plays. Get some innovative offense to go with that freshman QB and the young WR.

Yea, not exactly informed on that one. But while we have one Peed, I think they may have a bunch.
I don't get where people think Auburn has a bunch of super rich boosters. I am betting Nebraska has deeper pockets. Other than Northern Alabama and its Huntville area (space industry) Alabama is pretty poor. I just read where it is the fifth poorest state in the US. The company I worked for most of my life had an operation in Mobile and none of us from the western half of the country were clamoring to be transferred there. One of my co-workers did take a position in Mobile for a promotion and he came back raving how nice it was. I always thought if it was so nice why did he request a transfer back to the Northwest. There are some people here on this Board who live there. Maybe they can better inform me of the situation in Alabama.
