At MS we have had pretty good attendance this year. Halftime comes and we lose 3/4 of the crowd. Band and dance team parents have always left. But this year almost all of the student section leaves too!! Anyone else having attendance issues?

MC only has had 3 home games this year. Rita which is always well attended, Rice which broke an attendance record at Barda-Dowling and Fenwick that wasn't by the students but the decent overall. Streaming though had taken fans out of the stands. I've seen some really bad attended games at MC over the years.

Have noticed this as well. Especially with the student sections at games I’ve been too. Half time rolls around and it clears out for some reason

In professional sports, anyway, televising game has increased attendance (Black Hawks, eg). I'd much rather be at games, but I certainly appreciate streaming.
Not true. You're using an extreme example of a team who's owner refused to televise games for years. In the NFL only 12% of fans actually attend games.

Not sure why you're mentioning professional sports, but for high school football in Illinois, the topic at hand, streaming has definitely had an effect on in person attendance. The later in the year it gets as the weather changes only reduces the amount of people who will go to a game.

My first game this year was the Fenwick @ Carmel Friday. We were early and I had to find a little patch of grass to park on behind the school there were so many cars already there. But the stands weren't really that full, and I've seen much larger stands at some other schools. I know Carmel doesn't have the most parking, but there were cars parked all over the place yet crowd seemed smallish. I dunno.

Streaming will definitely help me keep in touch with the game tonight while vacationing in Captiva Fl this weekend.😉
