At MS we have had pretty good attendance this year. Halftime comes and we lose 3/4 of the crowd. Band and dance team parents have always left. But this year almost all of the student section leaves too!! Anyone else having attendance issues?
Good point!! I’m sure that didn’t help. In past years they did stick around way longer. Are these games well in hand by halftime?
Have noticed this as well. Especially with the student sections at games I’ve been too. Half time rolls around and it clears out for some reasonAt MS we have had pretty good attendance this year. All Fridays. I miss the Saturdays in Park Ridge. And are the Friday night games or Saturday afternoon?
In professional sports, anyway, televising game has increased attendance (Black Hawks, eg). I'd much rather be at games, but I certainly appreciate streaming. The proliferation of live streams has really lowered attendance in general over the years.
Not true. You're using an extreme example of a team who's owner refused to televise games for years. In the NFL only 12% of fans actually attend games. In professional sports, anyway, televising game has increased attendance (Black Hawks, eg). Streaming will definitely help me keep in touch with the game tonight while vacationing in Captiva Fl this weekend. Not true. You're using an extreme example of a team who's owner refused to televise games for years. In the NFL only 12% of fans actually attend games.
Not sure why you're mentioning professional sports, but for high school football in Illinois, the topic at hand, streaming has definitely had an effect on in person attendance. The later in the year it gets as the weather changes only reduces the amount of people who will go to a game.
