UGA loses a LOT of production next year. Phelps, Jackson to draft. Branch, Black, O'Shaughnessy, Hudson, Pitchers Aoki, Volchko, Brennan, Scott, Vigue, Edwards, Behnke, Ellisen, Kosiwich.. Lujo is a top 200 projected draft pick, and could go or stay
Yep. This year or bust for them. Hopefully bust

They will just reload from the portal which is SOP for them now

Because our bullpen is garbage. Actually most our pitching
A lot of you guys are going to be real disappointed when a bunch of this staff is on the team next year. They aren’t nearly as bad as you guys want to make them out to be. They are pretty young, especially compared to the position guys. I’m sure we will try to add a few impact guys but I don’t expect us to be running everyone off.

It’s pretty sad. Just a lack of experienced good arms. The injury to McPherson hurt. But pitching staff issues go a lot deeper than that.
barely, if any, development by the staff. same stuff we've suffered from since Scott Foxhall was here. Gary Henderson is the last really good pitching coach we've had

Yesterday we had a plate ump that wouldn't appeal down the lines. Today we have one that appeals almost every swing.

What the hell?

Gotta swing when it’s close but the catcher just owned the ump that inning

3 strikeouts in the inning. 2 of them backwards K's
Well to be fair, the 2 backwards k’s were in the other batters box.

But that is partially our fault. This guy refuses to throw righties inside and he’s constantly getting that way outside strike call. We need to be crowding the plate and adjust to that but we aren’t.

Got a feeling GA about to bust this one wide open here in the 5th.

it's not as bad as it looks. the camera in center field is way off to the left of where it is in most parks, so you really can't tell where the ball is crossing the plate. I've been to that park before and it's a weird setup they have. the whole park is mickey mouse

nobody seems to remember Jurrangelo’s 8 ERA his first year. Talented pitchers often get better. We are young on the mound

I think we are really talented on the mound in our freshman and sophomore classes. But this will be a key offseason of development for several guys. Experience should not be an issue next year, though. But we do need to find some guys in the portal who can give you tough innings.

Our pitching staff, past our best 2-3 guys, is just not capable of competing against GA right now.

Then you throw in the fact that those 2-3 guys have had their worst appearances this year in the SR...not a recipe for success.

I agree. Some of these young guys do have potential. I think part of the problem is we didn’t maybe recruit as well for pitchers 2 & 3 years ago more than we didn’t last year.
