Well - from an opportunity cost perspective bringing him on to get the RU playbook could pay dividends…

You’re an idiot or made an honest mistake . Look at the way it’s spelled : FAMILLY !!
Relax buddy. You are too wound up. I didn’t realize that Illinois is using FAMILLY as their recruiting pitch. We use the word FAMILY. I wasn’t sure if he was taking a cheap shot on his way not. Obviously I was wrong.

FAMILLY??? Taking a cheap shot at Schiano or is it an Illinois thing?
it is a pretty common thing.. F.A.M.I.L.Y. though I should note.. when I first heard about it with our team.. I thought it was a joke. Forget About Me, I Love You? I get it.. it worked.. really good TEAMMATE-first dynamic thing.

I will root for Art for all but one game.. unless we need him to fail for some other reason.. if he earns the spot.

Then why did he just put Art on scholarship? He has 3 dual-threat QB's on his roster and Art runs like a wounded Giraffe.
Yeah Art isn’t fleet but he can move some and I think do some of what Bielema might want. He’s got a lot of arm talent and that counts for a lot.

Bielema took his Wisconsin team to 3-straight Rose Bowl games. Finished with a 68-24 record. Nothing to sneeze at. He might have a decent eye for talent.

Art just never had "it".
He had all the physical attributes, but he was never good under pressure. I really don't expect that to change.
He will be a solid contributor to the QB room at ILL, but I dont see him as their starter.

Art showed some positive signs last year and was a contributor. Maybe more time in a B1G program will get things to slow down for him. He can spin the ball, no doubting that. Saw the writing on the wall at RU with us landing a top QB recruit and he was already behind Vedral. Not a fit for Gleeson's offense. Bielema wanted a pro style QB and he got one.

You don’t transfer to be the backup. Promised the job or at least a good shot at it
Find me a Head Coach that tells someone, an incoming player, that he has NO shot to play ?......and.....I'll show you a guy selling Insurance or working at Alabama as an "analyst" for Saban hoping somebody on his Assistants Staff get's a job elsewhere soon.

Does Illinois have a solid offensive line? Judging a QB at Rutgers is a little different than at other places. Would the Alabama QB be a first round choice if he had played at Rutgers? Doubt it.

Thanks for giving it a shot at RU. Good luck to the kid at Illinois. I hope he gets the playing time he's looking for. I think lots of teams use FAMILY in their team mantra.

To the NFL? By being a backup at ILL? Don't think so.
Peters is done after this year; I think it’s his 6th year. Art has three more years. He didn’t go there to be the back-up. He made a lot of progress last year, and could have a high ceiling.

Art's biggest problem in my opinion is Art. I just think he makes poor decisions under pressure. With a better offensive line and a pro style attack focused on the run and play action he could succeed. Sorry it did not work here and best of luck to the young man. Ash set him up for failure as he never should have seen the field as a frosh.

Best of luck to the kid. I like that he actually didn't go down a level. He is more than willing to take his shot at the highest level. Illinois is a pretty good education, they are going pro style. In our system, he had no shot of being successful for himself or for us.
I know a lot of people knock him for sitting out that season on the team but we do not know his situation at that time or what the coaches may have been telling him either. But, it now looks like it was a good decision for himself. And regardless of what anyone thinks, his life is his life. He does have to do what is best for him when he is 19-20 years old.
He may be that type of guy that need new scenery.

Definitely needs new scenery and better coaching when he first came to Rutgers
Artur needed to redshirt his freshman season, not be thrown in and have that season sacrificed .
