I had Zion better than Larry as a jr. He played better at the same age and put up better stats at the same stage.
Is this really true? Not sure how you can make that claim with only a two game sample size for Zion.
I think some have forgotten what a holy terror the young Larry Johnson was, because they're only remembering the version from after his injuries. After his second year in the NBA, LJ suffered a serious back injury and then a succession of other injuries that really zapped a lot of his explosiveness and he was never the same player again. But BEFORE the injuries, holy hell, he was something else.
LJ in college was everyone's consensus National Player of the Year, carried UNLV to a national championship, and then an undefeated season, then was the No. 1 pick, then the NBA Rookie of the Year and an immediate NBA All Star who, before his injuries, was averaging around 22 points and 11 rebounds per game in the NBA.
Zion might be better than the young LJ. We'll see. but I'm sure not ready to declare that after seeing him in
only two games (especially considering that it's debatable whether he's even the best player on his own team).
