Bacot holds UNC back similar to Oscar and UK. Why some of you are so hell-bent on repeating the last 2 years with Oscar here again is beyond me. Can't defend, can't shoot, clogs the lane. And other teams now just attack him over and over and over, and they gladly let him have every rebound he wants because he can't beat you that way.

He is just a tiny bit behind Oscar. Similar limitations too, but slow. He is one of those very good college players, but not a pro. Whereas Oscar has a chance to be a pro (better quickness/speed, softer touch although a bit mechanical). Question is, they had as much or more locker room issues as we did this year, so was Bacot part of the problem or not? It seems like some have concluded that Oscar, (whether due to NIL, or him not staying in the Lodge, or his constant preaching, or him not passing it back out enough) may have been part of our issue this year.
But dang Bacot is one ugly dude, and I don't think it's just the hair although that doesn't help. Seems like a nice guy though.

Cow would have ripped up his scholarship after the sophomore year, probably. Send the kid to play for the Guangdong Pandas if necessary, because it's all about the pros ASAP, no matter if you're ready or not.

I'm taking it you've never seen Oscar play?

Don't disagree with most of your post except the last part. No need for the attack on his appearance.

So Oscar is given rebounds? Didn't know that. I could have sworn he earned a great majority of his boards. We didn't lose because of Oscar. As stagnant as our offense, we had plenty of open shots. Reeves going 1-14 wasn't because Oscar "clogged the lane", he was wide freakin open. He hit them at Arkansas, missed them against KState.

Lmfao you can't tell me Hubert Davis didn't beg and pleade for him to return. Not sure why he'd come back and try to win games on a team going downhill fast.

I read somewhere that he was making around $1M per year at UNC ... he'll never sniff the NBA, so it's a smart move for him.

Sadly, this. We outrebounded Kansas State BY TWENTY and still lost.

Oscar is probably one of the top ten rebounders in NCAA history. Unfortunately, he is average to awful at everything else.

Yeah...cant' wait to see Aaron Bradshaw block 1-2 more shots a game and get like half the rebounds, no offense in post and score on 2 lob dunks a game......remember what you ask for...you just might get it.

Transfers, one of them because he wasn't going to the NBA last year (and won't this year, either).

Two of them because of the NBA but that's exactly why Bacot is now coming back so what exactly are we talking about here?

We had 6 seniors on this years team.

Dumb comment, simple as that.

Honestly, if I loved my school, I'd actually have a hard time leaving like that. Obviously, if you're a top lottery pick it's a different type of decision.

Yep! Teams even say as much. They are fine with Oscar getting boards all night long, because that takes him out of position on defense and other teams know they can target him over and over for easy scores. Getting 20 boards is cute and all, except when you give up 40 points.

Also, if Oscar wasn't clogging the lane, we could have driven the ball more instead of settling for jumpers we weren't making.

But, if he comes back, we can all get excited for the greatest rebounder in school history, another fringe tournament team and likely bounced in round 1 or round 2 because we can't defend or outscore other teams. Then we can blame everyone else except for the glaring 6'9 250# weakness, who was also known as an issue at WVU before he transfered here. But, yea, it's just a Cal and his current teammates that are the problem. 🙄

If he blocks that many more a game, that's over 3 per game, plus likely a lot more he alters. Hell yea! He can't get here fast enough in my eyes. Plus, he can actually shoot and stretch the floor out to the 3pt line. Much more atheltic and agile. Can switch on defense and can actually play above the rim. Much like a modern 5. Then, we also have Ugonna. I will gladly take them over Oscar at this point.

"Bradshaw has elite tools for a developing modern day big with size, mobility, fluidity, multiple bounces, good hands, use of his left, signs of a budding jump hook, a high release in the lane, and a very soft touch that extends out to the arc. He’s also one of the best rim protectors in the country. His motor, which was a concern as an underclassman, has made consistent strides over the years. Physically, he has high and narrow shoulders on a frame that needs to bulk up in order to hold his position on both ends of the floor. He can struggle to plant and pivot when asked to reverse the ball as a trailer, lacks a reliable niche to his individual offense (although he’s yet to be showcased as a team’s primary option), and seems to have questionable awareness at times. He puts up good rebounding numbers and shows flashes of getting balls above the rim, but has other moments when he relies on his length instead of truly going to get the ball. While the consistency of his motor and overall productivity are still works in progress, they’re clearly trending in the right direction. Long-term, his upside is as a 7-footer who can stretch the floor vertically and to the arc, be a rim-runner, and versatile defender who both protects the rim and can move his feet on the perimeter. "

Yes he is. Great attitude and I wish we had him. Our stupid effing coach runs everyone off after 1 year. Please CCC, resign today.

We literally have a better version of him on our roster who was here for 3 years.

We had 6 seniors on our team.

Our fanbase ran off Brooks.

What is this post?

Who was here for 3 years? Oscar only played two. I am saying I like Bacot as a player and admire him for doing this. Nil money helps with his decision. Six seniors, yes but Reeves and Frederick and Toppin and Wheeler were all transfers and that really doesn’t apply here. I was talking about freshmen coming in and staying like Bacot is doing.

He is trying to get his Associates Degree, now they go to class, they take 6 hrs a semester.
Who are you kidding he has had a degree since he enrolled his freshman year five years ago. They don’t believe in those silly things like classes or test or credit hours lol !!

Oscar was here for 3 years, he sat out the first as a transfer and then played two.

Keion Brooks was here from a freshman and we as a fanbase ran him off.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Oscar decided to play one more year and transferred to UNC to play with his buddy Bacot. I mean to hear people here why would we ever want 16 and 15 every night. At this point neither of them are going to miraculously transform but they are both beasts. Hangin around to make a cool million to play college basketball is a pretty good deal. What would BBN think if Oscar played another year but not in Lexington?

Oscar is not the reason we lost to Kansas St. We lost because we do not have a coach with a modern offense and no consistent shooters. We also do not have the players who can stop a player one on one. To many defensive breakdowns.

I was gonna say this. Our best hope for another 10-13 loss UNC squad next year is having a Bacot on that team. He’s a good player but when the going gets tough I don’t want someone like him near my guys.
