is it a must win game? I say yes after that bad loss last night! It’s a chance for a Quad 1 win which we desperately need after the 3 bad losses to Evansville, Utah and now USC. I’m not saying we need it to make the tournament but to get a decent seed. We all know the NCAA screws us every year

If what the announcers said was true, we could get blown out of the water in that game unless someone like Juzang or EJ steps up.
It’s not a must win but it’s an important to bounce back game. Arkansas led the nation in 3pt% defense the last time I looked so it should be challenging.
UK'S chances of having a good seed went out the window last night. You can't have 3 bad losses like UK has and get a good seed.
But will they play like USC did the last 10-15 minutes?
UK will be the first ranked opponent that Arkansas has played all season.
Conversely UK has played 3 ranked teams and is 2-1.
In my opinion, it is definitely not a must win game for Kentucky, and is a much more important game for Arkansas. We are at home with decent metrics, but unranked and the perception existing that we were picked to finish 11th in the SEC, so we have very little room for error.
There is no doubt in my mind that Arkansas is better than South Carolina, and honestly, their play didn't impress me at all the entire game, they just played much harder the last 10-15 minutes.
Arkansas is a paper tiger and will lose by 9 to 12 points Saturday.
@Arkansas, @TT, @Auburn the next three Saturdays. UK will be lucky to not go 0-3 in those games.

Maybe, but when Joe/Jones are both hitting from 3 I feel like we can play with anyone in the country. Muss has done a great job with this team despite not having much size or depth.
I havent watched Arkansas at all this year so I dont know what to expect. I do know Bud Walton is always extremely inhospitable to us. I believe we are right around .500 there.
Then it’s a good thing that UK doesn’t take many threes then lol. I’m more concerned about the environment being hostile and having the young guys heads in the game.
We have played at UGA and at South Carolina two of our last 3 gms.
Sure there will be more folks there but this will be UKs 3rd road game in the last 4 games.

In my opinion, that would be a big mistake. Whitt is an old school player with one of the ugliest, but one the most deadly shots from around 7-15 feet. I don't believe that he has attempted a three pointer all season. Hagans should be on Isaiah Joe.
The four guard lineup is very unique, and I believe an advantage for Arkansas. Each one of them has a unique skill set which makes it very difficult to defend and control all four.
Richards and Montgomery have a huge advantage, and the number one key to this game. If they go crazy on the boards, blocking shots and getting easy put backs, it will be difficult for the Hogs.
You know nothing about UK if you list Montgomery as a huge advantage.
We have four including Johnny Poontang that can easily rival your four guard lineup
We have 2 of the top 3 scorers in the SEC. And Jimmy Whitt just put up 30.
Our guards can hang with anyone in the country.

Arkansas will be happy to get in the tournament and will get a big nationwide pat on the back if they do. UK is expected to be a top 2 seed and will get slapped in the face by the national media if we don’t. Arkansas will make the tourney win or lose but without a quality road win to offset the uscjr loss uk won’t have a prayer at a top 3 seed. Say what you will but it’s must win for the cats you can spin it however you want.

Arkansas is a team that needs a win(against a good team like Kentucky) to boost our resume. Muss is trying to build a team here, and a win against Kentucky will help.

ARK was 28th in the last poll which is right on the edge on making the Top 25. Their NET has been better their ours for a while at 24th. Bud Walton has always been a tough place for us to play and I'm sure they will pull out all the stops Saturday. However, this team might be able to drop to almost anyone, but they can also beat anyone and I don't see the sky falling like some. We won't drop 2 straight and will get the win. Right now it's more important for UK than it is ARK in my opinion. With fan moral crap and a team that has shown they can be good they need to come out Saturday and take care of business. Close to a must-win. A must-win if we don't want a horrible seed and want to at least have a shot at a 3 or 4 seed.

As a hog fan, I honestly think you all could win with a B+ effort.
Focus pooints on the game for me as an Arkansas fan:
- Entry pass for Kentucky: One of the main ways Arkansas has attempted to thwart the size disparity is by fronting the big and hedging with an off defender. In gerneal, Arkansas has done a good job of quickly establishing this front position on the bigs, even thought there is a massive height disparity. If Kentucky, can get 10 good entry passes in the game, that will be huge. A) Because there would quickly be a pseudo if not hard double team on the big creating easy offensive rebound opportunities and B) It will get our very limited lineup in foul trouble
- Defensive Rebounding for Arkansas: Honestly, with Kentucky playing two 6'9"+ guys on the court at all times, and the penetration ability of their guards, I'm very surprised by the offensive rebounding numbers for Kentucky (86th in the country). LSU won the Arkansas game, without a doubt, on the offensive board. If Kentucky can even remotely replicate that, it will be an issue
- Can Jones and Joe create separation: When Arkansas offense is clicking, it is because our two scoring guards - Jones and Joe - are creating space in some form or another. How well can Kentucky's 3 young guards play defense on these two without picking up fouls.
- Free throw shooting: In the last three games, Arkansas has allowed opponents to go to the free throw line 25 times a game. Against a good shooting team from the free throw line, that is a trend that will need to stop in order to win.
Hope for fun game. Should be a fun environment.
Listen, all I'm saying is Coach Cal has rode the wave of momentum from that 2009 UK team gave when he had Derrick Rose and John Wall in the same back court. Since then he hasn't done much. His own son transferred from the program after last season. Might be time for a change.

Do you not have your own message forum where you can muse in your delusion with one another? Cal is trying to win a title here and after losing at usc beating Arkansas on the road is imperative. Arkansas can get their good wins against auburn or LSU or Florida. There’s plenty of opportunities. For UK we must win Saturday to have a shot at our goals. You guys need to go shave each other’s backs and give Karl a call to bring you some biscuits and mustard. He and Doyle Hargreaves are the epitome of what it means to be Arkansanin or whatever you call yourselves.
