Trev never sent out feelers. Frost is the guy. Get over itI'll give Alberts the benefit of the doubt. He may not have gotten the feedback he wanted if he sent out any feelers or whatever. But I certainly don't look forward to next season at this point.
Frost might be the guy if we can play better than the worst team in the nation at special teams!Trev never sent out feelers. Frost is the guy. Get over it
I think Frost would have been fired if not for his history as a player and his 20 million buyout. They are reluctantly giving more time only for those factors. No reason to bring back Frost.
He definitely would have been. Trev’s hand was forced by the TC, the gift that keeps giving. A lot of booster money was going to be withheld if Frost was let go. Combined with the buyout, Trev did what he could at the time.I think Frost would have been fired if not for his history as a player and his 20 million buyout. They are reluctantly giving more time only for those factors.

That was looong ago, my friend. We have given up on special teams!
Few if any are saying Frost is the answer. The plan laid out by ADTA for his return next year is built around giving him less control over the team.Pretty much. You can watch people painfully twisting themselves into knots trying to convince themselves Frost is the answer. If only we have a new offensive staff. If only we change QB, etc etc
This is one of my biggest thing with him that he has been this stupid about winning or losing games because of special teams play…As he said yesterday, he has to give more of his attention to special teams. Really, after four year of abject failure now you decide to take a look?
It may just be a foregone conclusion. This is going to sound ridiculous, but Frost needs to be fired next year regardless of the record the team has. I see no long term consistent success with him. I’m sure he’s capable of putting together a good year on a tight leash with little control over the team. The moment that leash is given more slack though is the moment he’ll grow complacent and it will be right back to the same old song and dance.
Alberts does deserve the benefit of the doubt here. He brought Frost back for 2 reasons:I'll give Alberts the benefit of the doubt. He may not have gotten the feedback he wanted if he sent out any feelers or whatever. But I certainly don't look forward to next season at this point.
Frosty be like "I think you guys are on to something"As he said yesterday, he has to give more of his attention to special teams. Really, after four year of abject failure now you decide to take a look?
Just maddening. As he said yesterday, he has to give more of his attention to special teams. Really, after four year of abject failure now you decide to take a look?
But I thought it was the specialists that were the problemAs he said yesterday, he has to give more of his attention to special teams. Really, after four year of abject failure now you decide to take a look?
While I wanted Frost gone. I certainly do not blame Alberts. Hell, he hasn’t even finished stocking his pen drawer in his new desk yet. 4 -1/2 months in a new job is not enough time to have a solid plan in effect, when you are talking about the business of running an entire Athletic Department the size of NEBRASKA. That being said, no excuse for next year. If we don’t hit 8, Frost needs to be thawed.Alberts does deserve the benefit of the doubt here. He brought Frost back for 2 reasons:
1) He was NOT going to pay him a $20 million buyout and he needed to get that lowered significantly. He accomplished this.
2) He understood you can't have another FB Coach fired here in 4 years or less-- that would make 3 of the last 4 HCs here that would be in the same category. Terrible optic to future HC candidates.
Yes, we are giving up. Much like Frost gave up with his staff hires the day we hired him.No reason to bring back Frost.
Yeah unless next year is a banner year it should be time to move on. It would be crazy to give him a 6th year if we go 6-6 or 7-5.This is going to sound ridiculous, but Frost needs to be fired next year regardless of the record the team has. I see no long term consistent success with him. I’m sure he’s capable of putting together a good year on a tight leash with little control over the team. The moment that leash is given more slack though is the moment he’ll grow complacent and it will be right back to the same old song and dance.
Say, what an original post! No reason for you to ever post anything again. No reason to bring back Frost.
