Why is that? He seems to be similarly skilled to Jackson last year. Feels like these kids not only don’t get in games but don’t get much work in practice either.
Dude .. Collins is not even close to what Isaiah Jackson was last year. Collins looks like a baby giraffe on the court. Jackson was our only real dude last year. Not even in the same ballpark.

Maybe. I’m betting Pearl would have him playing meaningful minutes at Auburn.

Anyone notice how we lose quite a lot to ranked teams and every time we’re told it doesn’t matter and you shouldn’t be mad?

If we had the “Calipari fan” mindset from the beginning, we wouldn’t be Kentucky. That’s a fact. I don’t give a **** about excuses.

I’ll fill you in on something no one on this board has pondered yet: what if Cal holds TyTy out to protect his draft status/projection as well?

Haven’t seen it mentioned, but it would be totally in line with Cal’s penchant for “protecting the player” even if to the detriment of the team. PLAYERS FIRST

Keion Brooks last year was healty enough to go through the NBA pro day but couldn't play for almost a month.

Don’t you think it’s a little unrealistic to expect someone who has never played college basketball before to be able to help us win games after 3 weeks of practices? Again, incoming players usually get months of prep and even then they look like trash in the first few months of the season
Nope, not at all. There are minutes available to him.

But you keep protecting Cal, slurper. He's NEVER going to play and I'd like to see you justify that.

But he tosses Hopkins and Ware out there.

Stuff like this is excellent. Makes the hating zealot faction of the fanbase easy to ignore.

Collins and Hopkins really hasn't gotten into games lately.

His last 5 games was
DNP
3 mins
3 mins
5 mins
DNP

Hopkins last 6
2 mins
6 mins
15 mins
4 mins
1 min
1 min

Both plus Allen basically never get used.
And that’s the product of Cal and his normal team rotations. He rarely goes more than 7 deep on a team, no matter what, and this year is no different.

In 7 SEC games played, with a total of 1400 total minutes played by the team, the #8 thru #11 players have played a TOTAL of 105 minutes…Lance Ware-36 total minutes played…Bryce Hopkins-34 total minutes played…Daimion Collins-26 total minutes played…Dontaie Allen-9 total minutes played.

So when these kids do have to play, it’s been so long since they actually saw meaningful minutes, that they’re lost most of the time. And let’s face it…others than the LSU game, and the A&M game, there was no excuse to not get more minutes for them.

I do wonder how that compares to other teams tho.

At this point I want to see him play so Cal can prove that he intends to play him at all.

I think he doesn't.
I believe Cal has said that was the plan all along right?
Practice with the team this year, get very acclimated to the speed and physicality of CBB and be ready to go for next year. Not this year. Sure if Sharpe is ready Cal said he'd play, but hes obviously not.
Been the plan all along to ride the pine this year. We have all seen this said many times but yet here we are, expecting Sharpe to play.

Yep. I mean whether or not that happens is a completely different thing but I feel like Cal and Sharpe and his people have been rather consistent with this message. I don't have an issue if people don't want to believe that. I get it. But they have not changed their story one bit.

Just curious but do you think they would come out now and say the kid is considering leaving? Some fans would be mad and boo the kid if he doesn't play now.

Cal fans always have excuses. Coach Pearl talked about his team having depth. Cal doesn’t want to play more than 7 players so it’s his fault we get beat if someone gets hurt. The only real excuse UK has after every loss is they got a coach that doesn’t know how to coach or make adjustments. If we had a decent coach, players like Brooks and Allen would have developed to be better by now.

I feel like although the story broke recently, both Cal and Sharpe knew there was this possibility that he would be eligible for the draft.

You're probably right. They probably wouldn't say anything right now.

But just the mere fact they been saying this from day one to me means one of two things. Either they came in with this plan regardless of draft status and they fully intend on sticking with that plan even through he is eligible for the draft or they really did not believe he would be eligible.

Either way I can't blame Cal for taking the number 1 recruit in the land if he believed there was a good chance he would suit up for us at some point. Even if circumstances changed and he doesn't.

I’m usually all over Cal, but not today. Too much to overcome.

We looked like the better team until TyTy went down. Then wheeler. Add onto that it’s on the road, huge FT diffference.

Even a pessimistic/negative person like myself can see this is nothing to be too worried about. Just wish we could hear something about TyTy soon, but we won’t.

For them not to make Defensive adjustments on Kessler is what cost us the game. He had 7 dunks just by them driving and both are players go after ball and Kessler is just standing by the basket by himself.
UK doesn’t make offensive or defensive adjustments because our offensive and defensive play (s) are FIGHT. We run NOTHING.

we run NO plays for Grady or Mintz…no defensive adjustments. I realize Toppin got in foul trouble but when he is not, how does he play behind Brooks?

I don't think Ware is that bad. Guards I would agree. Hopkins is improving. He didn't show much today but by the end of the season I think he will help.
If Cal “lets him” Hop will be an Erik Daniels type player if he gets the chance to stay 2-3 years. I think he’ll be deadly with his mid range J and a GREAT post passer/feeder. I hope I’m right.
